You sent him a Facebook message after you talked to him or instead of talking to him?

Oh, nothing at all. But I would prefer to use the one i've always had within my own schedule and allotted time.

I had sent the message before I talked to him. ;)

The point is the same, and your pointing out the typo just further illustrates how childish you're being about your situation. You're resorting to social media instead of having a conversation with someone who lives in the same house as you.

Living with people means that their circumstances will change, oftentimes due to reasons outside of their control. You said that you share ownership of the home, meaning they have just as much right to the facilities of the home as you do. Deal with it.

The same reason the Borg didn't use their time travel device while at home, then assimilate Earth in the past: otherwise there'd be no movie/thread. :p

This. Living with people means that you have to be adaptable. Your brother has just as much right to that bathroom as you do. You are faced with a choice. You either learn to use the other bathroom when your preferred one is occupied in the AM, or you learn to get up and use the restroom earlier.

Typically, a toilet and sink without a shower or tub.

Why are you being vague? How about this message: "Hey, I normally take a shower at _____. Any chance you can take a shower at a different time?" Or you could use the other shower. Or you could take showers at night. This really isn't as complicated as you're making it.

Yeah, we Yanks don't use the word "toilet" to describe anything but the crapper. Not the room, not the grooming/cleaning process. :)

I might understand the fuss if you all had only one bathroom, but since you've got two and a half, and I gather the two full baths both have showers... I'm just shaking my head in dismay.

If I have a shower rather than a bath, I'm usually done in less than 10 minutes, if not closer to five minutes. It really doesn't take that long.

Oh, boy. What a fun thread this has become! I guess very few people understand, if at all, that it's the principle of cutting into my personal time that gets to me. Like I said, the other bathroom is detached from the house, and I see no reason why I would have to make the arrangement of using that one when I'm supposed to be using the main bathroom during my scheduled time. Yes, I can be immature and uncompromising about it if I want to.

Anyway, this issue has been resolved as my brother realized the error of his ways and promised not to interfere with my personal shower time. Case closed.

I think we do indeed understand that this was about "the principle of the thing", but that doesn't take away from the toddler-style tantrum you've been throwing. It takes maturity to say "Meh", shrug it off and use the other shower. What a petty thing to get worked up about.
