Sorry if any of this is being discussed, I looked and didn't see anything BUT... Has anyone found Dexter lacking lately meaning last season and this season so far. I don't know if it's just me but Dexter feels like it somehow jumped the shark, I'm just not feeling it anymore and I really don't care for the direction the show is going. I really don't see how they could stretch another season after this one. Anyone else feeling the same?
S6 was lacking very much. It made me wish it never existed in the first place. I find the Deb-knowing-Dexter's-secret storyline a bit interesting and I'm curious about the role the Hannah McKay character is going to play in Dexter's life. But I wish the show ended much earrlier before losing most of its greatness over the years.
I thought I had figured out the direction the show was going this season when they introduced the Wayne Randall character. I figured he was buffaloing everyone and would end up escaping, going on another killing spree and lead the police on a marry chase, after a while the police would have to come up with something because the press is going ballistic as they and the police know who he is but can't catch him so Deb eventually turns Dexter loose on him. As soon as he took off running I told my GF "Told ya!" but then that story line" abruptly" ended.
I haven't seen the latest season, but season 5 and 6 were abysmal, wheel-spinning affairs. Seasons 3 and 4 weren't especially good, either, but they were at least elevated by interesting antagonists played by Jimmy Smitts and John Lithgow.
This season lacking?? Hell no! The scenes between Deb and Dex are amazing. I've been waiting for this stuff for years.
we're only two eps into the current season, but i don't find it lacking at all. last season...yeah, it wasn't all that great. still, a sub-par season of Dexter is better than most shows.
Deb knowing about Dexter has given the show a real shot in the arm this season...so far anyways. It could go off the rails any time.
