It could be argued that SW tech is pretty much the same or close to the same as ST tech. They just use different names for the same process/tech.

Right, because the better term; "full power to forward shields", was already taken. :)

    "All shields, double front!" :guffaw:

And in other places: "Nothing can get through our shields!" You can even see the shield around Anakin's Naboo fighter at one point in TPM, while during the Battle of Coruscant in ROTS a bluish ripple effect can be seen when Republic fire hits the shields of the Trade Federation donut ships.

She's 1200 meters by the way
Has to be based on the hangar bay sets and art work
Just as she was supposed to be before they down scaled her to 725
Secondary hull sets all fit much better at 1200
Primary hull fit a bit better at 725-900
I'd be happy to split the difference and be done with it
Then send her into the prime future to wipe out the boring generations weakling (and puny) galaxy and nebula class fleets
    No kindergarten on my Enterprise

The pulses aren't quite as long as in ST II. SW blaster bolts are a bit slower, and the charges shot by Space 1999 Eagles the slowest.

*BUMP!* (didn't know where else to put this)

I knew there were two versions of the Enterprise model, one with a 2D pic of the bridge in the front window, which is a bit too wide and short, and the other for compositing with live-action footage of the bridge set. I knew they differed slightly in height of the ridge around the dome and shape of the window itself, but I never realized until now that in the latter, the side apertures are weirdly distorted. It's like they only dragged up the edges nearest the window, leaving them slanted.

That distorted part makes it look like an extremely dirty last minute scaling job.
But at the same time, the dome isn't the same. The second level (above the bridge, and below the glowy dome thingy) is different.

Is one of those the late STID 'refit'?

Sort of. It was first seen in ST'09, in the pull back/flip over shot just after Pike, Kirk and Sulu leave the bridge before the space jump sequence. Then in STID after the Enterprise is sabotaged and stuck in Klingon space (the shot this is from is the longer deleted scene version, with the brightness adjusted) and it's finally on the refitted Enterprise at the end of STID, where shadows hide the distorted apertures.

I suspect when we see the refitted Enterprise in action in ST3, they'll go back to the shorter window with the 2D photo of the bridge, only wheeling out the taller distorted one for composite shots with live-action.

I like the smaller window better.

Here's the definite proof the window of the Enterprise is exactly 4 centimetres wide. :klingon:

Now with this photographic evidence, if you still deny the truth about the size of the Enterprise, that must have been one hell of a Romulan ale bottle that you drank tonight... Or one hell of a quasi-dimensional Non-Euclidean geometry you got on your planet.

I thought this was Daniel's post until I saw that you'd merely captured his avatar in yours. Tricky tricks!

My Romulan Ale bottle tonight looked suspiciously like Sam Adams White Lantern. Romulan Ale would have probably tasted better.
