Summers over and the miserable weather begins to creep in but least the TV season is back ... Happy with the Monday numbers, and skipped everything Tuesday, so no real dog in that fight, although looks like a win for NCIS/cop procedurals... They could pretty much put youtube videos of a guy lighting his farts after 2.5 men and it would set weekly records, huh? I actually kinda liked the 2 Broke girls Show, but clearly the numbers are just the same thing that boosted every show they've put in that slot.
I hated the New Girl. My wife and I couldn't even finish it. I normally like Zooey, but she was annoying as fuck in that show.
Ratings wise yes, but creatively it was shit. Interesting it got better ratings than Glee. Raising Hope is awesome and should get better numbers.
Just watched that off the DVR. Man, was that terrible. Had too many Michael Scott level cringe-worthy events, without much payoff to make it worth it. No thanks...
2 Broke Girls and New Girl had final demo ratings of 7.1 and 4.8 respectively, higher than the premiere of any freshman scripted show of last season. The Playboy Club drew premiere ratings slightly lower than ABC's My Generation from last season. ABC pulled My Generation off the air after just two episodes, although they have a slightly higher cancellation threshold than NBC.
Ringer falls almost 1 million viewers (2.84 to 1.96 million) from the first episode. People are realizing how bad it is and that not even SMG can make it worth watching.
Ringer had a hell of a lot of competition for its second episode, while it had very little competition for its premiere.
I was surprised by how poorly Playboy Club did. I was never interested in the show myself, but I know many others who were at least going to check out the first episode. Guess they didn't stay tuned in for long...
Two & Half Men ratings are just ridiculous and will return the norm next week most likely. How I Met Your Mother really needed a strong start after slumping bad last season but the true test will be the midseason numbers in 2012. Surprised how bad The Playboy Club did though I always felt monday night was a bad night for it. I always assumed NBC would of put it up with X Factor.
It'll take longer than one week to return to normal levels given that it debuted to double last season's premiere. By the way, Jax, as an aside, your current sig is one of the John Adams quotes that's most frequently taken out of context and misquoted. You probably came across the quote without being aware of its full context. The full quote is, "Twenty times, in the course of my late reading, have I been upon the point of breaking out, 'This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it!!!' But in this exclamatic I should have been as fanatical as Bryant or Cleverly. Without religion this world would be something not fit to be mentioned in polite company, I mean Hell."
I liked the first few minutes of Unforgettable with Poppy's character using her memory skills to make money at the casino, but the show devolved into the usual police procedural after that and I lost interest.
