In space, no one can hear you freeze ... Klaus brought a chill to our forum as he challenged us to envision the Trekverse in frosty repose - probably because he could use that high-tech mug of his to warm up a cup of hot chocolate! Nevertheless, mittened fingers grabbed crayons and mice and, after a flurry of activity (necessitated by a tardy mod, no doubt!), ideas crystallized and fell gently to rest here. Curiously, no Andorian ice powers revealed themselves - yet again! - but the cold of space awaits a hot competition, so cast your votes before these guys thaw out in two days! from the Fan Art Forum FAQ:"Q: How do I enter the monthly art challenge, and what are its requirements? A: The monthly TrekArt challenge is not an 'official' function of the forum, but is informally agreed upon and continued by the members. In general, the requirements of the monthly challenge are determined by the winner of the previous month's challenge, but the common expectations are that a) the artwork you submit is created during the month of the challenge, rather than using artwork or compositions that already exist and happen to fit the theme and rules of the challenge, and b) you are allowed only one final image to submit, although it may contain multiple views. To streamline the process and cut down on confusion and logistical problems, the moderator will post the final poll, and the entrants need to e-mail their final entries to the moderator (currently Ptrope; email: ptrope at gmail dot com) by midnight, GMT, on the last day of the month; the poll will then be posted in a timely fashion, usually on the first day of the month." (bolded italics added) I would have voted for you though...
Sorry, unusualsuspex, I scanned back through my e-mails for the month to make sure I hadn't missed anyone, and thought I had also reviewed the month's posts to make sure I hadn't missed anyone, but obviously I did. I try to rely on e-mail submissions for just this reason, and to make sure that people really intend to submit their art; sometimes images posted in threads are not the artist's final effort and I don't want to mispost something they didn't intend.
Crap. The end of the month slipped by me, seeing as I had to spend the last few days helping the father-in-law move and staying home with a sick child. Oh well, it wasn't finished anyway.
And a cool win by Flux Capacitor - congratulations! You know what you have to do now . Thanks to everyone who entered - or hoped to enter (sorry, guys!), and thanks to Klaus for reminding us of Snowmageddon . Thanks, too, to everyone who came in from the cold and voted - it warms our hearts more than a phaser and a rock!
Awesome! Thanks to everyone who voted, and also to the great competition. I have a pretty cool idea for this next month's contest and should have the thread up soon. I'm just wondering where I can find the list of all the past contests to make sure I don't re-do anything.
Congratulations, Flux Capacitor! Here's a link to the most up to date list I can find: http://www.trekbbs.com/showpost.php?p=3371382
