Can you tell a persons personality by which Star Trek series they like. All IMO . Original = A stickler for tradition. Next Generation = Mature and sensible Deep space nine = Eager , Will stand up for one's self . Voyager = Will do anything to help others Enterprise = ????????? Whats Ur thoughts? Go easy, I'm new.
And welcome to the board! I'm new here myselfs and I'm liking this thread, it's a pretty good guide to the various Trek Series.
What do the novel series say about you? *lol* Vanguard: Not afraid to try it again. SCE: Creative under pressure Titan: Exploring the unknown.
TOS: Old and grumpy. TNG: Never quite got over the 80s. Uses words like "rad". DS9: Someone whose intellect rivals Mozart and Einstein combined. VOY: That annoying cousin that you didn't like but your parents forced you to spend time with. ENT: Legally a vegetable. If you can't tell that I'm being facetious then you're probably an Enterprise fan.
See, I told you Enterprise fans wouldn't be able to tell I was being facetious. In all seriousness I quite enjoyed Enterprise and don't think it deserves the reputation it has been given by some of the fans.
Thank you. I just don't know what personality trait my fandom points to... unless it means I'm an old-fashioned girl.
I like DS9 and the last 2 seasons of Enterprise best. So does that mean I'm just like Einstein and Mozart ---- brilliant and dead?
I love all of them but I have a dim view of TNG fans who can't make it past TNG to the next 3 series. "I tried the others but I only really liked TNG.." I suspect these people don't listen to any current music either. That's my personal bit of Trek judgementalism.
I'm a Niner and massive Cardassian fan who's rather suspicious of the so-called utopia and kind of "enjoyed" seeing the Federation get a bloody nose. I was not like that at all when I was younger--I was a huge TNG fan then. But I think the idealism in me died and I am still left with a love for the imagination behind Star Trek...and a disjoint with its ideals (or at least believing that if ever accomplished, there will be a serious dark underside). This sums it up WONDERFULLY, this interchange between Garak and Bashir, how I started and how I became... Elim Garak: You've come a long way from the naive young man I met five years ago. You've become distrustful and suspicious. It suits you. Julian Bashir: I had a good teacher.
I am equally a TNG and Voyager fan, so I guess I'm mature and sensible, with a passion for helping others. DS9 was alright, but it was so boring the first few seasons i never watched it until later on. Enterprise....well I won't get into that. I personally think that some of the plot lines were good, but overall it was a complete disaster in terms of canon. TOS...i wasn't alive when that was on so I watch it out of respect. I like the remastered episodes on Spike (or FX, can't remember). And Kirk was hot. One thing i liked about Enterprise: Trip. Should've made him gay. LOL. ALL FOR ME!!!!!
Oh, THIS won't end well... but, since snark has been invited! TOS - Bitter old fogies with impeccable taste TNG - Arrogant and Narcissistic DS9 - Psychotic and schizophrenic VOY - Desperately seeking attention ENT - Counter-Culture Loser
I am another person who liked all five series though TOS and Enterprise a bit less than the other three. But I like Babylon 5 more than all of them.
