    "Who Mourns from Adonis?"

I never realized before how much it parallels the structure of "Space Seed": female historian is swept off her feet by charismatic, virile relic of Earth's distant past, etc. Except Carolyn Palamas remembers her duty more than poor, doomed Marla.

"By Inferno's Light". Love that episode. But then again, I love basically all of DS9.

Watched "The Apple" this morning, for probably the first time in years. I had forgotten that Yeoman Martha Landon called Chekov "Pav" for short--and took out two hostile natives with some cool jujitsu moves. Talk about channeling her inner Emma Peel . . . too bad we didn't see more of her.

Interesting ideas and it has one or two good moments, but ultimately it's a misstep. WW2-style culture on a pre-warp planet. Technology falling into the hands of a less advanced people. Trying to minimalise the damage. So naturally consequences from earlier episodes being what they are, Archer & Reed are able to be rescued with the aid of an advanced Suliban stealth ship... they shouldn't really have either. Big fan of the potential around in the 22nd Century, when it's slightly less tainted by the TCW. Not one of its finest hours this.
