http://www.deadline.com/2010/09/true-lies-series-in-the-works-with-james-cameron-producing/ Interesting. I guess this is just them cashing in on the current CIA-type TV series in production. Under Covers, Nikita, etc.
CIA/FBI or spy shows come and go. Alias was big for 5yrs at the end of the 90'/start of '00s. They should've continued the True Lies concept on screen a decade ago. They could be on film 4 or 5 by now. They fumbled that concept as a franchise long ago.
Even Michael Jordan missed some shots. But really not sure why you went all smart ass with your reply?
Oh, no. Cameron's worst movie? That disgusting piece of sexist crap, where the "hero" misappropriates government resources to abduct and then psychologically and sexually terrorize his wife and it's treated as a comedy? I do not want to see a continuation of that story.
I don't see how he screwed up a franchise that obviously just hasn't been a priority for him to make. His main star has kind of been unavailable for a while. Maybe Eliza can reprise her role in this
How about Eliza Dushku as Dana Tasker and Alyssa Milano as Jenny Matrix teaming up to kick some ass? Their fathers are good friends.
That would be awesome. Though the level of hotness with those 2 onscreen may melt my DVR and television.
I'm sorry I happen to be correct all the time. James Cameron is a nut job that makes great movies but should never be allowed to talk or make sequels to the movies. He just waste them and is a lot of talk in order to get attention because he's an attention whore.
That part of the movie was great! I hope they build an entire series around kidnapping cheating wives and scaring the shit out of them.
But until Avatar 2 in 4 years time he has only ever made one sequel to one of his own films, and that was T2. Fair enough if you personally think that movie was a waste, I personally it bloated and cloyingly sentimental, but it's a pretty small sample to make such a sweeping statement off.
Rene Echevarria is attached to this? Wasn't he one of the producers and writers of TNG and DS9 back in the day?
Cameron's misjudgment was all the more bizarre given the strong female characters he's shown in Aliens, T2 and even Titanic and Avatar. Having said that, I did enjoy the action sequences in True Lies though it's hard to see why on earth it's being revived now.
True Lies was possibly the only thing that I didn't hate Tom Arnold in. Meh, I doubt this series will ever happen anyway.
As much as I liked the movie. This aspect always bugged me too. And why make a TV series off of a 16 year old movie?
