i have to agree. If you don't want to use it regularly and are content with the low DPS numbers and good tanking abilities go for the fleet version and be done with it.
If you want to get a cloak get the Defiant retrofit instead.

It's pretty easy to get the 4 fleet modules for the fleet version. We are not even thaaaat far off from unlocking T4 shipyard ourselves to make it available and there is always that charity channel to get an ivite for it.

The Bundle is only interesting if you are really interested in all 3 ships anyway.

The set Bonus is completely uninteresting, you get better stats with fleet consoles and the antimatter spread is a gimmick and won't save your ass anymore than a fleet resistance console which boosts your stats ALL the time, not just for 5-10 seconds every 3 minutes.

I gotta admit, the fact that it has a hanger bay makes the Dreadnaught a bit more appealing IMO! Still doesn't seem worth it. I would buy for the Cloaking Device, but I would want to put it on my Fleet Battle Cruiser, which I don't think I can do, can I?

Federation ships that can use the cloaking device from Galaxy-X dreadnaught or Defiant Retrofit:

(Fleet) Galaxy X (cloak from C-Store version)
(Fleet) Defiant Retrofit (cloak from C-Store version or Veteran token version)
    Avenger Class variants

    That's about it.

The Fleet Battle Cruiser is the Avenger Class is it not? So i should be able to use the cloak? I think I remember reading that it can!

*EDIT: Checked myself, yes I can equip Cloaking Device from Dreadnaught Cruiser & Tactical Escort Retrofit on Avenger Class Fleet Battle Cruiser. :D

*ADD: Thats still like 2,000 Zen / $20 just to add Cloak to my ship though :S

Yup, I think I'll skip the galaxy bundle and instead get two ships, the Avenger Battle Cruiser and the Defiant Retrofit for the cloaking device. So the Fleet Avenger will be my final ship for my andorian tactical officer who's currently still using the freebie Breen Chel'Gret from two christmases ago.

    Get the Fleet Battle Cruiser!
I just don't know if its worth getting the Defiant Retrofit just for the Cloaking Device. I don't even like the Defiant and would probably end up getting rid of the ship itself.
Is having a cloaking device really worth it?

Not really. It's not the same as the Battle Cloak the KDF side gets, so kinda pointless gimmick mostly. Can use it to sneak close, but can't cloak again until out of battle, so...

The Quad Phasers are kinda neat, but mostly in how they look vice usability. Used to be good, but too many things have progressed for them to still be top end. And only comes in Phaser form, so if you want to use any other type, completely useless.

I can not install a cloak in a Vesta class ship?

There is a neat visual update to the Defiant, if it's the looks you don't like. That ship costume however comes with the T4 Sao Paolo class version of the ship and unlocks it for the T5 versions, too.
So of course, you'd have to buy that one as well.
The Sao Paolo is the one that comes with the quad cannons, the T5 Retrofit has the cloak.

What are your (everyone's) experiences regarding Reputations?

In retrospect, I am a bit behind in getting on my Rep grind, but I've been full timing it on my Fleet. I've just started figuring out the Rep system and Ive started doing other PvEs that are not just for Fleet Marks. But I find myself mostly working on Dyson. no real reason. I did read up on the bonus of completing Tier V in each, but I'm unsure of which reputations might be better then others to complete first?
I know everyone will have their own opinions, but that's what I want to hear :) And I know some people will say work on everyone at once, and yes thats true, but sometimes I don't have time and would just like to figure out what, if anything, to prioritize!
Personally, just from reading the buffs from each, and since I'm mostly a space kinda guy, I was thinking of going for either Omega or Romulus first. Leaning towards Omega. But Ill probably keep working on Dyson now as well since Im almost Tier 2 already.

Do you have Reputations you complete(d) first or prioritize?

I start with Omega -- it's the easiest one to get marks for, and the space set gear is varied and strong.

yep, probably the best one to go for. But really, it's whichever one you're going to have enough marks to keep feeding in. Can say Nukara, but if you don't have any marks there and aren't going to keep grinding it, you won't get far. Omega is easy to do from anywhere using the queue, so can keep it moving without halting whatever you're doing. Dyson is easy to get if you just spend some time in the battlezones.

Dyson gives you TOO many, as I've bought everything they offer, got another ground set for a BOFF, and still have like 8k marks hanging around. Just slowly turning them to DIL...

I hate to say this, but there's a fixed set of things you pretty much need to obtain to build the "I win" Federation starship.

    Fleet Gear:
Fleet Resilient Shields (if you have a high shield regen build, Fleet Regenerative Shields)
    Fleet Warp Cores with [AMP]
Advanced Fleet Weapons with [ACC]x2 [DMG]x2 (Do NOT get Elite Fleet Weapons)
    Vulnerability Locator Tactical Consoles
Rare Male Romulan Tactical Officers (Do NOT get Very Rare or Female Officers)

    Task Force Omega Reputation:
Omega Force/MACO/Borg Deflector (depending on ship type and build)
Omega Force/MACO/Borg Engine (depending on ship type and build)
    Borg Assimilated Console
    Borg Kinetic Cutting Beam

    New Romulus Reputation:
    Zero-Point Energy Conduit Console
Elite Scorpion Fighters (for most hangers)

    Nukara Reputation:
Nukara Particle Console (only if your ship purely uses beam weapons)

    Lobi Store:
    Tachyokinetic Converter Console

    Exchange Market:
    Plasmonic Leech Console
Saurian Bridge Officers with Efficient trait

Plan according to this list and you should be fine.

Dyson is the most casual one. One daily to get the token you need and you are set for the day to make good progress without needing any other resources just to unlock the tiers and stores.
You can speed up the process by doing additional higher cost projects if you like.
After that Omega is your best bet.

If you have mire than one toon you could do one rep here and one rep there and then let them sponsor each other to mix things up a bit.

Thanks intrinsical for that info! That helps a lot actually :)
And Timelord, I do have multipule characters, and I did consider splitting them up and sponcering eachother. But, I used similar tactics when I played WoW to level my characters and it went by too fast! I want this game to be a long haul, so Ill do each character individualy. Same reason i decided to start a Fleet! :D

There is nothing more longhaul than doing a solo fleet.
infact that is the point where I think you are spreading yourself to thin.
That alone will take you years to the point where you will a hard time seeing your progress moving at all!
To T2 is easy (just one holding at least), to T3 is hard but probably doable if you are dedicated. reaching T4 on the main holding alone will bring to to the breaking point and T5 is going to drive you completely nuts.

I'm not doing it alone. I opened up and helped a bunch of new players learn the game and helped them gear up, and in return we've all been growing the fleet and community. Still small but so far all our core members are very dedicated to the fleet and helping it advance. We're almost Tier 2 and it's been going by pretty fast. :) We all know it will take some time to get our Fleet going since Recruiting is harder till you're at least Tier 3 lol. But since it was originally my fleet, I feel a need to contribute a lot. I've been putting all my [online] time into advancing the Fleet. But I guess people like how I've set the Fleet up as we're growing pretty fast, so it seems anyways lol.

So... how do you turn around all the nay sayers who gripe that the Galaxy revamp is gimped? All it takes is offer a discount on the bundle and increase the galaxy console set bonus turn rate to +2.

ESD space is now filled with galaxys and galaxy dreadnaughts. lol

Apparently the +1 in the blog was a typo they since corrected.

Anyway, i bought the Vesta class yesterday (single ship version) with the AoE heal console which I found suits my intented role of support ship best.
The overloaded phaser deflector blast is more for tacs and the resistance console more for engineers/tanks I think.

What are your experiences with the ship and load out suggestions?
I will probably want 2 different loadouts.
One where I make use of the aux cannons (still need to reclaim the ship a couple times to get all 3 cannons) as a slightly beefed up DPS ship for STFs.
And one where I basically emulate an Intrepid with a mix of heal and control abilities which I really like.
I am unsure if I want to use some kind of beam build for the second one or try a science photon torpedo build to make full use of my aux power and not rely on weapon power that much.

I've decided I am going to build the 'I Win' ship described here. It will be a long term project for me, since I never completed Omega rep, and only get the marks by doing the ground missions on Defera. I have finished all the other reputations and should have access to everything else.

What ship would people recommend I use for this project? I currently fly a JHEC, but was thinking to go with a Fed ship this time. I noticed at some point I bought the Vesta pack, but never used them. Would one of those be a good choice, and if so, which one?

And as a side note, I found that I have THREE Plasmonic Leech consoles in my inventory. I will use one on this build, but would be happy to give the other two away to fleet members who need them. Just give me a shout in fleet chat in game and we can make the trade.
