Janeway didn't seem to care, since she was trying to distance herself form her own stink on that mission, but after they got home and Temporal investigations got a look at Voyagers logs... They would have shit a brick. but are we talking about demotion, defrocking, prison time, or some sort of fine/penalization that could be equated from a moneyless society, like maybe a finger?

Predestination is a defence to some accusations but on the flip side. one could say that Temporal Investigations was lapse and remiss not to be waiting for the silhouette of an intrepid class starship to someday be invented by and mass produced by "someone" or "something" and then keep an eye on those buggers to make sure their rape on Earth's history was in good taste.

Kim felt like an asshole. But was he an asshole that deserved to be locked in the brig for the next 70 years home? (For this. The brig is a hungry bastard licking it's lips thinking about consuming Harry Kim into it's penal lodging for almost any reason.) You have to remember that Janeway said in this episode that she had no idea who her family was in the 20th century, but then suddenly a few seasons later, it's Shannon O'Donnel this and Shannon O'Donnel that. Time is like mercury under these peoples feet.

Otherwise, Tom probably has lots of friends Harry could get to know if the worst comes to the worst! I'm sure Harry would make new ones there as well. Maybe renew an old acquaintance? CGI programmers from New Zealand graffitied the opening credits of TNG with the silhouette of our little country on Jupiter while Picard is monolouging in the worst French Accent ever. It's not there every season, they switch it up, but to me growing up, this was like a pledge of allegiance. In revenge for tha gall of so few so long ago, Berman built a prison to lower our futurical property values. So totally worth it.

They told him that if he should do whatever he could to deliberately contaminate the timeline so they could see whether the time cops were still on their toes. They promised to wipe from the timeline any future in which he was disciplined for said violations. He was doing exactly what he was supposed to.

A video editor whiz kid looking for fame got a hold of an original copy and created a "rough draft" version that made the original look like it was the final version of an elaborate hoax. This discredited the whole affair. A small band of cultists who called themselves "The Voyagers" were laughed at, eventually causing them to disband. In short order, it was all forgotten. No appreciable effect to the timeline. Harry Kim was saved from copious poop.
