Why would anyone want to bring Vader back? He's ruined, let him be. Bring back Palpatine, the real hero of the films.

Reading that description I can't help but wonder: is that book for REAL? That has to be a fake. It sounds silly.

No, it's real. I remember borrowing it from the school library when I was a kid. Although not really indicated on that page, it is a novel meant for children.

Um, no. The real hero of the films is R2D2.

No, Palps comes up with a plan ridiculously flawed and contrived to gain absolute power, and because everyone else is so incredibly stupid it actually works. And he's the best character in the series too.

Perhaps the term you're looking for then is "protagonist." Because Palpitane is definitely not a "hero."

Well he did turn whiny Hayden Christensen into badass James Earl Jones. That's pretty heroic in my book.

I when I was a little kid, I read and loved that entire series. It was my first exposure to SW outside of the movies.

Dunno if it's been said yet but...

    Vader return = Clone.

Seriously, Episode 2 was "Attack of the Clones" and all about them.

Don't you think, over the 20 years or so between "Sith" and "Hope", that Palpatine might have planned for an eventuality such as his own demise and of his protege?

I'm likely to be in the minority for many new Star Wars things (I like that Disney bought it, because it gets it away from Lucas who made horrible prequels) and also, as a Vader fan... I'd love to see more of him!

That said, we could have more Vader w/out him coming back in Episode VII. They could adapt the Force Unleash story-line or some other in-between episodes III and IV story ideas to return Vader to us.

Yeah, it's been said and shot down. AS for Disney buying Lucasfilm, you're actually in the majority with most everyone thinking it's a good idea (at least in this thread).

I think Disney is planning these things well in advance. I'd wager that we're not going to see Vader in Episodes VII-IX, but that doesn't mean that the studio can't bring the character back in a spinoff movie. The Darth Vader brand is almost as valuable as the Star Wars brand, and there's no reason to put all your eggs in the same basket.

I wouldn't mind seeing a version of Dark Empire, where Sidious' spirit survived physical death and he inhabits a clone body. It does invalidate Vader's sacrifice but it's a damn cool story. Particularly with Luke going to the dark side.

But we know it's going to be wholly original.

No Emperor. No Vader (outside of a force ghost appearance).

The best way to go is do something similar to the Thrawn Trilogy with the growing Republic facing off against the remnants of the Empire while Luke is off doing his Jedi training crap.

Just as long as they have a really powerful Sith/Dark Jedi as a villain. In a cool costume.

The only decent candidate for a new Sith villain would be Luke.

Most of the Darths have gotten their names from English words with the leading "in" removed. So "invader" became Darth Vader and "insidious" became Darth Sidious. I'm hoping the next movie will feature Darth Ept.

I was seven when I first saw Star Wars and thought his name was Dark Invader.
