The last vampire show I actually enjoyed, was Forever Knight in the mid-'90s. It's been a few weeks since then.

I liked Moonlight and sort of liked Forever Knight but otherwise vampires shows have never held much interest for me.

    Kevin Durand joins The Strain

Julie plec has single handedly ruined tvd and since she is going to also be running the originals this doesn't bode well but then again since it is going to be on the cw angst and love polygons ought to appeal to the mindless bieber loving teenager.

I thought the backdoor pilot was actually one of the best TVD episodes so far this season.

A 11/22/63 series? I don't see how that could work, except if they develop the concept of the Green/Yellow card guys further and place them in other situations.

An interesting writers development for a show that (regardless of the creator/developer) I initially had no real interest in:

Ira Steven Behr has been hired to help bring Ron D Moores' OUTLANDER to realisation on Starz:

Nice to see the pair working again

Is this the first they've worked together since DS9?

Fox and NBC have made some decisions about their pilots for next season:

Fox has picked up Almost Human and Sleepy Hollow and passed on Delirium.

NBC has passed on The Sixth Gun.

Okay. Almost Human is the Abrams android-cop show, which has possibilities. Sleepy Hollow is kind of a weird high concept, Ichabod Crane coming to the modern era to save the world (if you're going to bring a Washington Irving character forward in time, shouldn't it be Rip Van Winkle?). Delirium was something about a future where love could be surgically eradicated or something -- didn't sound too interesting.

if I hadn't seen the names of those behind sleepy hollow and the futuristic buddy cop show I'd be optimistic about them but seeing these are the same mediocre pool of writing talent behind Fringe, the star trek film franchise etc my optimism has faded. The last thing I want is some convoluted mythology, angst ridden, fast paced mess.

NBC has picked up Believe. Here's the logline: "Drama about a girl in possession of a great gift/powers - which will come into their own in seven years - and the man who is sprung from prison to protect her from those trying to hunt her down."

    Edit to add: simultaneous post!

Gotta make a mental note to not watch this until they've actually reached season 7.

I will sell my house and give them every penny I possess if they remake "A Man For Emily". But they have to use the original script and costume designs.

Or rather, from Abrams and Alfonso Cuarón. Bad Robot seems to produce half the shows on TV these days, but Abrams himself hasn't been the solo creator or showrunner of a series since Alias. So it's always good to note who his collaborators on a given project are, since they're likely to be the ones more directly involved with developing and running the show.
