Unfortunately, egos also lead to downfalls, when one lets such a useless, unconstructive, and undisciplined trait go to their heads. All that aside, I don't have a problem with female nudity(as long as it is in good, artistic taste). However, I don't think a mature, adult-themed subject matter, such as this, should be used in a manner concerning the broadcasting of a dirty old man's fantasies involving an actress who is many years his junior. Ever hear of being respectful of women and treating them as equals? H.G. Wells(sci-fi writer/Englishman and Gentleman)showed such respect by supporting women's liberation.
Pardon my saying so, but none of you would think nudity was nice if the nude person wasn't somebody you thought exceptionally attractive. Nobody was thinking about Rosanne Barr (I have no idea how to spell her name) or some old guy being nude. This entire thread except for Expo 67's contribution was a tribute to a softcore porn level of looking at women, which is why I came to this community only after discovering fan films.
There's nothing wrong with equality. I'm married to a Chem Eng that makes three times my annual income. A lot of men in my position couldn't deal with that reality. However, there's also nothing wrong with admiring (and even lusting after) the female nude form.
Thank you, Barbreader for that editorial commentary. Your contribution has been duly noted. I never said there was anything wrong with admiring and lusting after the nude female form. All, I'm saying is that it doesn't need to be broadcasted out in the open, let alone directed at a celebrity who may value their privacy. There is such a thing as 'too much information'.
I never got to walk around in the corridors or play in the transporter room, both of which went up really quickly during the second week of shooting (the transporter, I understand, overnight!). Looks great.
Yes, it was pretty amazing - done in a very brief time (preproduction through principal photography was a matter of months) and for an extremely low budget relative to productions of similar scope, but what they were able to put on screen is comparable to the original Trek series in many respects - IMAO, and at least according to a lot of the fans.
[shows up wearing only a red cape and a pair of Superman briefs and carrying a bottle of champagne and two glasses] Am I too later for the nudity? [stops a lone guy strolling through a curving corridor] Pardon me, buddy, do you know where the nudity went?
Enough with the nudity, please. If you need a nudity fix, go read a Playboy. Now, onto other issues... Since DS9Saga posted the latest pic, certain questions about the Exeter and her crew come to mind. In this thread, I had mentioned what the Exeter would be like in the alternate continuity established by J.J. Abrams successful reboot of Star Trek. U.S.S. Intrepid mentioned that Garrovick would be more grimmer. What would the ever lovely Jo Harris be like in this alternate timeline, along with Paul Cutty, B'Fuselek, Vincent Azato, Michael Shelley, Alexander Cray, and the other main Exeter characters? Most of all, would the Exeter look anything like the Enterprise(both interior and exterior)?
