Earlier tonight I was writing a new installment to one of my FANFICs here on BBS. And while doing so, I was watching DAY OF THE DOVE. And not thinking, I wrote a scene in my story and..well...I put in a character who had died in my story (sulu) right on the bridge, back at his post as if he was still alive. I only noticed this mistake later. But have you ever been watching STAR TREK and either you accidently type a character's name who isnt in the story (I did this once with SYBOK) and then you catch yourself later..hopefully before editing deadling for your story is hit? Rob
I started writing plot points from a movie that was on the tv into my story one night. Realized what I was doing, decided I liked it and polished off the serial numbers.
LOL...I like that. I think in one of my stories some time back, I did a scene and later on when I watched Jaws, I realized I had pretty much copied the scene. Its the one where they are showing their scars. My scene played out the same way,all the way up to when the character looks at his hernia scar and is embarrased to even mention it... Rob
Yeah, that's why I delete the older uploads to my group's files area & re-upload brand new drafts of my "Star Trek: Mandela" & "Star Trek: Vonnegut" stories. I get slightly insane about editing (author's notes, stardates, etc.) every time I find something I'd like to add, delete, or just swap between each of my eternally-W.I.P. TNG relaunch era Shatnerverse and Morgan Bateson series. Otherwise they just feel all screwed-up chronologically, etc.
