It isn't Cabot Cove that is dangerous, it is simply one of the residents. If Jessica Fletcher left the town the murders followed her and Cabot Cove became quiet and peaceful. Why the residents don't gather up their pitchforks and run Jessica out of the town is beyond me. Also most of the people who get murdered in Midsomer County are stuckup toffs or other disagreeable people who have it coming. It is reasonably safe for Mr and Mrs Average to live in the county and, in fact, the high murder rate actually improves the quality of life in the county.
If a lifetime's worth of New Yorker cartoons and the original Bedazzled are to be believed, Heaven is a rather hellishly boring spot.
Miami - more serial killers there than the rest of the world combined. Fortunately they keep turning up dead. And there's this island that looks just like Oahu that is in no particular location and occasionally vanishes. Try not to crash on it.
I think of them as fictional places when a meteor lands of them - fictional versions of the real places where the meteor hasn't landed yet.
The universe of Men in Black. Arrogant bastards trying to "protect" humanity - they just think people are stupid, that's all. And those memory-flash things probably cause brain damage or some shit like that.
And don't forget - you can't have romantic relationships with fellow agents, nor can you have any kind of life outside work, and if you give a lifetime of adulthood to the agency, you're rewarded with the total loss of all those memories. Geez, couldn't they buy their retired agents a Caribbean pleasure island compound or something?
Which job is more hopeless: Loopers, or Men in Black? If you're a Looper, you have to quite literally kill yourself!
The world according to 24. An insane and utterly brutal place, packed with extremists and psychos, and often on the verge of some worldwide society-dissolving catastrophe. Not even the ability to drive anywhere in LA in moments would be worth that.
Seattle Grace Hospital (especially if you're a doctor) Chances are high to get shot at, blown up, your heart broken, contract an STD, crash in a plane or drown. Worst working environment eva!
Then again, the 24-verse counterpart of L.A. can apparently survive a nuclear explosion detonated in a nearby area with no lasting ill effects.
