It's a shame Warners will never sell character rights to other studios. They would rather sit on the rights of the less popular heroes and never do movies about them, while they keep making Batman and Superman movies forever.:(

I believe Kristin Bell once expressed an interest in the part as well . . ..

How does Batman make any sense in a Man of Steel sequel? Bruce Wayne, maybe. But a guy dressed up as a bat? A coworker of mine, who happens to collect comic books, wasn't too thrilled about this news. As he said, "How useful would Batman have been in Man of Steel? General Zod vs Batman?" I told him Bruce Wayne could have some sort of business/military thing going on.

As far as actually donning the bat suit, I'm not sure how that works in a Superman movie.

The same as it does in every other Supes/Bats team-up.

I don't understand why people can so easily accept Lex Luthor as a credible threat to Superman but then are so incredulous at the idea that Batman can play a useful role in a team-up film. They're both depicted as geniuses who use their intellect and the technological/logistical resources afforded by their wealth to excel in a world of superpowered beings, and Batman has the additional assets of personal drive and extensive training on top of that. If you can accept Luthor as a viable bad guy in Superman's universe, then you should be able to accept Batman as a viable good guy.

The movie might be cancelled before it even gets released...

And from what I've read it sounds like she shows even more in Riddick.
I could definitely see her as Harley, and Kristen Bell would be a pretty good backup choice.

The release date for MOS2 will be July 17, 2015.

It's understandable this new casting news overwhelmed the news about the release day.;)

I would like to say I will not see this movie now, but I know I probably will. Although maybe not--I still have not seen Argo and watched about ten minutes of his recent SNL appearance. As an actor, he is vapid and has had more disasters than successes. His brother would have been a better choice (and that is not a compliment to his brother).

    Interesting choice.

Too bad he couldn't direct instead of Snyder.

It's the bat suit that bothers me.

Superman being an alien wearing a cape doesn't bother me. Lex Luthor being a genius that finds a way to be an enemy to Superman doesn't bother me. Bruce Wayne using his resources to help Superman doesn't bother me. Bruce Wayne dressing up like a bat to help Superman save the world bothers me. Batman works all dressed up in Gotham, striking terror in the heart of his enemies and such. Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent work. Superman and Batman is strange.

I can hear General Zod say : "Why is that human dressed like a bat?"
