Were those jumja sticks sold on the Promenade actually edible props? Or were they just fakes made of plastic or rubber or something? I've been trying to figure out which, but can't find any info about the actual props. The look of the product seemed to vary.

Perhaps only someone with the production, or a collector knows.

Nana would be a definitive source if that's accurate. Thanks.

Don't think they were actually edible. Be too awkward for them to make them again and again, plus the health issues. Given that we never actually saw anyone actually consuming them, I';d say they were a resin prop or something.

Well from the angle, you can't see if indeed there is tongue-to-jumja contact (), but Nog did appear to begin to consume a jumja stick in Season 1 Episode 2. I'd be surprised if he even remembers the scene, but perhaps someone could ask Aron Eisenberg about it if they see him at an upcoming event?

They could have had molds for these and kept some of the molds in case they needed to make edible versions and some for resin or more permanent prop versions.

It looks as if one jumja stick is reused: it looks like the same prop was used in In the Name of the Prophets that was bought by Kimara Cretak. Maybe they have a looong shelf life.

I always imaged that they tasted like dates...a natural sweet!

Be careful who you share your jumja stick with.

Jumja sticks defy physics. They melt in your hand, not in your mouth.
