I'd say 10 to 15 years. And then when it all dies down, Paramount will do ANOTHER version, that still won't have the TOS Enterprise in it.
And the B.O. returns from the last film indicate, that in a business sense, Paramount made the correct decision in order for that to happen. If they lose a couple die hard TOS fans who don't like the new film, but gain a fair share of general public fans who will atleast go see the new films, they did it correcting from their POV.
Not true! They also offer the potential for nearly spontaneous combustion. You never know when the flames will erupt!
I am and I will, no problem at all. That's the truth. My guess is maybe four movies before they reboot into something that resembles the original version even less.
Wow. When I read the title of this topic, I came here thinking that I was going to see some cool artwork depicting an updated nuEnterprise. Instead all I'm seeing is Star Trek '09 and JJ Abrams-bashing from the usual people who are always bashing them. Where the hell is the artwork?
Still not done yet, but here you go. Things are moving a little slower lately... my wife and I found out over the Christmas Holiday that we're expecting our first baby in August. Needless to say, we've been busy moving stuff around in the house. Have fun, guys,
Yeah, I've spent the last two weeks moving my computer room to a different room in the house... it's amazing how much stuff one can accumulate. I'll have to post some pictures soon.
Just changing the pylons goes a long way toward improving the side-angle view of the ship; plus the TMP style deflector looks a lot better with the rest of the ship's lines than the TOS style one does. Congrats on the baby, by the way.
Thanks, guys. Thanks. Yeah, I know the next 7 months are going to fly by, that's why I already started getting ready. Well, I meant of the the new computer room... I had posted some pictures of the old one, before. Nope, I had this, and my Enterprise D that I was working on, but both are stalled. Since I found out about the baby, I've been wanting to make some ships up in the style of the Disney Cars movies, but haven't had time. Thanks. From the front, the wider stance makes everything look more balanced. Even so, I really think they did a good job redesigning the ship... It could have turned out like the Lost in Space movie. -Ricky
Madman's version incorporates the one thing I think the JJprise needs tweaked, and that's the nacelle placement. Straighten the pylons and put them further apart as they were on the "prime" Enterprises. The rest of the JJprise I can more or less live with. Nice work Madman! I also happen to like the version Madkoifish did some time ago: http://www.foundation3d.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=34931&d=1262769776. Hey, Legion...while I'm here, got any schemas for your effort back on page 2? That is a seriously nice ship!
