I love the irony of someone with a NuTrek avatar calling anything else "shit".

As a fan of "classic" Trek, Abramsverse Trek, and Agents of SHIELD...enough.

Again, it depends on what you're asking of him. Could he play, say, Odin or Magneto? No. Could he play J. Jonah Jameson, as he often wanted to? Possibly with some degree of panache, but not a lot of range, no. But can he play someone that's basically Stan Lee doing what Stan Lee does best, which is the only thing we really want and expect from him? Sure! He's been a master huckster and carnival barker for half a century. He's the undisputed top celebrity of the comic-book universe. He's hosted his own reality show -- a job which entailed a great deal of acting, because the last thing one finds in a reality show is reality.

So yes -- I think Stan Lee is very capable of holding a sustained performance... as Stan Lee. As the public persona he's been hyping and honing for longer than I've been alive. His whole career as a celebrity is a sustained performance in that sense.

If the same guy can play both Ace Ventura and Truman Burbank, he's not a one-note actor.

Truman Burbank and Ace Ventura share oddly similar facial mimics and vocal inflections. I guess they both imitate Andy Kauffman.

Jim Carrey, and guys like Tom Hanks, used their comedy chops to get their foot in the door. Carrey is no Hanks, but he has certainly stretched himself over the past fifteen years.

One of my favorite movies, but he plays a calm, boring guy - it's why he gets dumped.

I think ABC should look at this thread and realize they should never let the show go on hiatus. The conversations get weird.

I'm still surprised a series I thought would be absolute cack keeps managing to engage and intrigue me. Though the Stan Lee appearance just felt too intrusive.

Well... I had to dig up my old Deathlok-comic from the very earliest of the 90's and on the first page they namedrop both Roxxon and Cybertek, so apparently the hints for who Mike would become was apparently pretty obvious...

Was it ever revealed what the acronym for the episode title was?
