I saw both the Daleks movies a couple of decades ago. I think I preferred the first one. It had some really cool musical themes that I still remember. Of course, the second one (which I've also recorded but not yet watched) is the one with Bernard Cribbins, who more recently played Wilfred Mott in the current Doctor Who series. It'll be interesting to see his younger self from that perspective.
I actually stayed up and watched a good chunk of it... I thought it was both cool and silly at points, kind of like the series in the same era. The music was amusingly period as well. It was neat seeing Cushing as the Doctor, and according to Osbourne's commentary he was very happy with these movies because they did well and he got to play a hero for once and became a kid's favorite.
Cool. I saw this about a year ago for the first time and thought it a much better film than the title might otherwise suggest. I quite liked it and have it in my video library.
Yeah, I have that on DVD, too. It's worth it for the SFX alone, but otherwise it's really a high-end B-Movie.
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein is on tonight at 8pm tonight, followed by Abbott and Costello Meet The Invisible Man and Abbott and Costello Meet The Mummy.
You're welcome. Yeah, and Abbott And Costello Meet The Killer would have fit the theme, too. There were several other "Meet" movies by the boys, as well, I think.
If Abbott and Costello had lived and made films for several decades longer, might we have seen... Abbott and Costello Meet Joe Black Abbott and Costello Meet the Parents When Abbott Met Costello
As a kid, I was always disappointed that that weren't around long enough to meet the Creature from the Black Lagoon.
