^you assume the new shows will have a science fiction connection. They won't.

Has SyFy gotten that bad? I dropped the channel after the end of BSG. I knew they were shifting demographics, but it sounds like lately they're really went in the shitter.

A psychic fraud would be a nice topic for a fictional drama. But as "non fiction," yeersh...

I think I saw some of that one night. Or something close to it on Sci-Fi. I MST3K the fuck out of that show, pissed off the wife who was getting into the who spiel.

Show: "I feel a cold spot in the room, as if all the life has left this place..."

Me: "Close the window you daft bitch!...hey! Why'd you throw that at me, I'm just telling the truth!"

Ace of Cakes would almost work on Sci-Fi Channel, they're all laid-back stoner geeks and have made cakes of Stormtrooper helmets, Slave 1, and WoW monsters.

I'd welcome a show like SF Vortex, which Sci-Fi Channel aired during the 90's. Harlan Ellison used to rant and rave on that program.

This doesn't surprise me. As I'm sure many people who take a deeper interest in WTF is Sci/Sy Fi/Fy doing know, Bonnie Hammer, the president of the network, hates sci fi. She's been at this for years and is responsible for the biggest thrusts away from original sci fi programming in favor of crap like wrestling and other unreleated scifi/fantasy/horror elements to them.

Whoa! you are thinking way too much of SyFy.
I believe the last talk show they had was "Crossing Over with John Edward" (1999) (TV series) around 2001 as initially it was on USA Network. later it became syndicated.
The show was had very dark sets. When it was syndicated for season 3 or 4 they added blue carpeting and wood paneling on the set for the syndicated daytime-talkshow-crowd homogenized look.

I think it would have to be a show along the lines of Strange phenomenon or ghosts or paranormal. They can't go all sciencey or it would be Discovery Channel/National Geographic/History Channel/Science Channel territory

I can see if SyFy does a dinner and a movie type show like TNT or TBS though.

Alton Brown doing a show about the science of cooking would fit okay on Scif...er..."SyFy"...

(And "AB" is a self-admitted sci-fi geek to boot!)

'cept that pretty much what he already does on "Good Eats" on the Food Network...

    How about "Iron Chef Space"...???

Ghost Hunters is a fictional drama? :wtf: I thought it was a particularly bad "reality show" and have therefore been ignoring it.

By fictional drama, I mean they have to admit it's fiction. :D

The channel has turned into bull pucky. WWE, UFC, Ghost Hunters, seriously stupid movies, weak show that only air maybe once a year or so and all of that... now a cooking show? Whatever as I already know how to cook.

The channel long ago turned to airing the asme old same old every week and now has turned to the "I am a 13 year old kid" channel.
