Well, for the bulk of the story, split everyone up. Have River with Vastra and Jenny, and Jack with Strax. Mainly so you can have this scene:

For some reason, a woman strips her clothes off in front of Jack and Strax.
Jack: "Oh boy!"
Strax: "Ah, so this one is a boy."

The adventures of Jack and River AND Vastra, Jenny and Strax? I think the only reason this hasn't happened is because the universe (both fictional and real) can't handle that level of awesomeness.

 

I am totally happy to risk the universe for this one.

 

The universe is doomed anyway, let's just have an awesome time while we help it along.

 

It's funny how the writers seem to pour more time in the Doctor's companions and allies rather than the Doctor himself. Also with River Song, while I don't hate her per se, I felt they spent too much time on River's story while I continued to wonder about the Silence's real motive and who really blew up the TARDIS (with the Silence as prime suspects).

 

But we know the Silence's real motives now.

 

We know a lot of the Silence's motives (as explained by the fat blue bald head in the box) though I'd like to know what that disembodied voice in the TARDIS belonged to before the TARDIS blew up. I'd like the Silence to come back more than the Weeping Angels and Daleks.

 

Yeah, I'd love the Silence to come back, especially now that the Doctor has been to Trenzalore, which is apparently the whole thing they were trying to prevent. What exactly are the consequences of that?

 

The Silence are pretty decent original foes from NuWho (alongside the Judoon, the Sycorax, Weeping Angels, Krillitines, and Ood).

 

Oh, well. Happy Detestable Smug Bitch Day then, everyone. I'll celebrate by putting on a curly wig and slapping men, because violence that's abhorrent is hilarious when the gender roles are reversed.
