So I've been thinking about doing a movie era sim for a long time now and I've finally decided to start it up. I'm in the brainstorming stages right now. (Still working on my character) but I've decided to throw out a feeler to see if anyone else is interested in being a part of this thing. Basically I'm looking for anyone and everyone that loves the movie era and wants to write there. This whole thing right now is in the brainstorming stages. I've got a general premise for the setting, but that's it. So if you've got ideas, skills, time to burn, or anything else to contribute and want to be a part of it, my contact info is at the bottom.

Basically this will be (eventually) a forum based community set in the movie era. Here's the basic premise.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    The Distant Shores Project....

The year is 2289. (100 years earlier than most of your sim fleets running the Post Nemesis timeline.) In 2189, the Starship Endeavor, NCC-06, found a stable spatial anomoly in the Beta Quadrant's unexplored frontier. After sending several probes through the anomoly, and recieving telemetry back, the Endeavor's crew learned that the Anomoly was a wormhole that led to an unexplored area of space. Before they were able to discover just where it lead, it closed. But contained in the probe's telemetry were visuals of other probes sent through, launched some fifty years earlier by Klingons. The Endeavor reported their findings to Starfleet Command and the matter was shoved to the back burner.

In 2239, the Anomoly opened again. This time there was a monitoring station nearby and a great deal more was learned about the Area of space on the other side of the anompoly, now called "The Rabbitt Hole" by the Starfleet Research teams assigned to study it. Probe Telemetry revealed a Star system near the far opening with an inhabitable planet. Without making it known throughout the Federation, Starfleet quickly sent three ships through the Anomoly and all arrived safely on the other side. Their mission was to set up a base of operations on the other side of the Anomoly and begin prepping for a colony expedition the next time the anomoly opened in 2289. Due to the unique nature of the mission, the crews of those three vessels were allowed to bring their immediate families with them. The Ptolemy Class supply ship was fitted with enough supplies and building materials to construct an outpost on the inhabitable planet. After the first three ships arrived, their findings and sensor telemetry revealed many discoveries, and several more questions about the area of space they'd come to inhabit. The biggest question was, Where are we? Navigational sensors revealed that the area of space on the other side of the Rabbit Hole was outside of the Milky Way Galaxy. When the Rabbitt Hole closed after being open for some 10 days, that mystery was still without an answer.

After the anomoly closed, Starfleet Command began putting together a colony expedition for 2289. It was named Distant Shores, and would be passed off to several different administrators before the Rabbit Hole opened again on 24 May 2289. There would be upwards of ten thousand colonists, Starfleet crews, and scientists going through when the anomoly opened again. And they had fifty years to prepare.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So we're going to start with the 2289 Fleet. I'd like to start with one sim, or two if there's enough interest, and build from there. If this interests you, contact me at any of the following...

    Hi guys,

Starfleet: The First Era began as the first “Enterprise”-era game on the Internet. We play by e-mail, so that is all you need to join us. For over 10 years we've shown dedication to quality SIMming in an era of development and imagination.

Currently we are featuring four different SIMs-two spaceships, a K-1 Space Station, and a human colony on New Darwin. We are actively looking for new members and would love to meet you!

USS Blackwater NCC-93833: Flagship of the Nightstalkers Task Force

    http://blackwater.starfleetuk.org/index.php/main/index

The newest sim of Atlantis Fleet, the USS Blackwater. She is a Sovereign class vessel. The Nightstalkers Task Force's primary mission is to defend the fleet, and provide aid to planets that are under attack, or has suffered a large catastrophe.

    Setting:
    To Join!
    1. Read the rules!: http://blackwater.starfleetuk.org/index.php/main/rules
    2. Fill out the application!: http://blackwater.starfleetuk.org/index.php/main/join
    3. Await your acceptance or denial!

Notes: Please backup your application before submitting it. In the occurrence of a connection error, you will not have to rewrite your entire character. I'm not saying it will happen, but it's better to be safe, rather than sorry. Your application may also be lost if it is not fully completed.

If you have a pre-written sample post, feel free to submit that. It doesn't even need to contain the character you have created for the sim, or even Star Trek for that matter. It will just allow me to get a feel for your writing style and ability. tl:dr You need to have relatively good grammar and spelling.

Your performance on the sample post will determine your starting rank.

I look forward to seeing many of you there! I am very excited.

    The Last Outpost RPG-X:

    What is RPG-X?

RPG-X is your story, your characters, your ship, your plot, your world of Star Trek placed in an easy to download, ALWAYS free program. RPG-X not only allows you to take control of your own ship, it allows you to take control of your own crew as you lead them on a journey bounded only by your imagination Only with The Last Outpost can you experience a new realm of Role play.

    What is The Last Outpost?

The Last Outpost is a group that nurtures your ideas, and builds them up into an enjoyable, memorable role playing experience. Here, as a member of a tight-knit community, you will not only learn how to master RPG-XCE, you will discover how to effectively bring your story to life, lead others and create your own Star Trek Universe.

I've been in gaming clans before. What makes The Last Outpost different?

For one, The Last Outpost is not a gaming clan. We have no arbitrary rank system based on time spent in the group, so once you're in, your voice is as valuable to us as anyone else's. Secondly, since we are not a gaming clan, we have absolutely no problem with you being a member in any other clan, fleet, guild etc. TLO was created a a community designed around having fun without the unnecessary drama that surrounds most gaming clans.

    Wait, what is rpgxCE?

It is a free, legal, and extremely easy-to-learn program that will allow you to bring your story to life. With an infinite number of addons, you can create your ultimate universe. What was once a mod to the classic Star Trek: Voyager Elite Force is now standalone and downloadable by anyone. . This package will allow you to connect to our servers, participate in our RPs and, perhaps, lead one yourself.

Do I actually get my own crew, or are they just NPCs like in most games?

You get your own crew, played by living breathing people who you can interact with in real time. No static conversations like with NPCs, instead you can explore the dynamic history of each of your crew mates without ever running out of things to talk about like you would in Mass Effect or STO (Star Trek Online).

This sounds great! How can I join?

It is really simple. Go to http://www.last-outpost.net and click on Forums. Then Click to Join. Register to the forums, and then fill out an application form. Then that's it; you will be welcomed as a full member of the TLO community

It's that simple. Join today, for a lifetime of fun!
If you have any questions regarding to this don't hesitate to contact me.

In it's darkest hour, Starfleet is calling to every man and woman that will join its ranks, to help protect the Federation against the latest threat we face. Command has just dispatched the USS Blackwater to serve as part of Atlantis fleet, to add to the growing beacon of hope and to help push back the endless march of the Klingon Empire.

Currently, all positions except X.O, CMO, CFO and MCO are available to be staffed by any willing soul that will join the cause. Starfleet needs good people to help win this war, are you one of those people? If so then head over to USS Blackwater Website and sign the enlistment form, become a member of the USS Blackwater and help the Federation in its time of need.

We need you to crew this ship, The Federation needs you to win this war, The people need you to save them. Will you do this?

Also, check out http://www.atlantisfleet.com for more available ships to join

Are you burned out on Trek Simming because you:

--are required to simm according to someone else's excessive limits?

--are frustrated with bureaucracies, politics, stifling rules, and punishments?

--have to write long proposals to a command structure for one small change on your ship, or to promote an excellent player?

--are told you can’t play the character you have written with for 5 years because he or she is too high in rank and you don’t want to demote them?

--have to have a certain number of players on your game, and a certain level of activity? waste valuable time filing monthly reports rather than actually playing?

We at The Ninth Fleet are all Trek simming veterans and have all been there, and we say ‘no’ to this!

The Ninth Fleet is currently seeking new and experienced writers and gamers to fill positions aboard various Star Trek simms!

The Ninth Fleet operates in distinct groups, in separate unique universes. One may have a tie to each other due to the same creator, while others do not. It depends on the person whom originally created it and how the COs feel. If the group does not want it, we do not force it upon them. That's not how we do things around here.

The universe is a vast place, comprising of stars, galaxies... everything we can perceive. But the multiverse is infinitely larger. Many different theories exist as to if there are different universes or parallel worlds, but as to whether they will exist or not is something we have to ask ourselves if we believe in.

Fiction is one example of this concept. An alternate timeline (or to use a term that fits with the theory alternate universe) is one that we explore as a work of writing, exploring out with going to new worlds in a television series or expanding our minds in a book. It is not us that goes through these events, but rather the shadows of ourselves or someone completely different from us, from an established universe. It is up to us to establish this world in our minds, even expand upon it and, if we want to, write more and share it.

The Ninth Fleet is founded in this theory.

Imagine, if you will, an organization that, no matter what the universe, no matter what the time, exists in some form or another. It is something that seems so innocuous, so small, but is somewhere around there, always there to support those that need it and help others that may not.

We are the ones you work with when things are down, when the cards are out.

    We are the Ninth Fleet.

Whether it is a small organization of surface ships, a group of special operations, or a large space fleet of epic proportions, we are there. When you need recruits or new people, we will support you. When you need to have your ship refitted or new equipment, we will support you.

    You are not alone.

    Redemption Awaits You....

    Redemption

Commissioned after the sins of the Dominion War, Redemption sits quiet and dark in spacedock as a new Commanding Officer is assigned and her refit is completed. Assigned to Task Force 93 of the 4th Fleet (Bravo Fleet) she is one of the newest Galaxy Class ships and filled with as much new technology that can be fitted to the timeless starship design.

Her mission will be to not only reestablish a Federation presence space nearly abandoned during the war and rebuilding years but to push farther and deeper into unexplored space. To do what Starfleet has long worked towards in the decade since the war: go where none have gone before.

She is redemption for a Federation pushed into war that did whatever it took to merely survive

As she awaits her crew Commander Anna McCormick is informed of what will the ships first assignment: track down the fugitive Dr. Fiona Balm and her followers hidden deep within the Briar Patch. Sentenced to a life in prison for attempting to alter the human genome to create the ‘perfect’ human she amassed a small group of followers and managed to escape prison. As she descends further into her own madness that crew of the Redemption will soon discover the true nature of her work.

We have filled the position of Chief Medical Officer but we still need a few more as we ramp up to our first mission: hunting down and capturing the brilliant geneticist Fiona Balm, who is seeking to 'purify' the human species by altering each and every Human on the genetic level and create 'perfection'. As the crew of Redemption hunts her down they will find out just how far she has descended into her own madness.

    * * * ATTENTION FACEBOOK USERS & STAR TREK SIMMERS/ROLE-PLAYERS * * *

Hello, my name is Captain Benjamin Wolf. I have started a Facebook group for Trek players and fleets/games, as a way to give those players, fleets and games more exposure. I'm putting together a list of the various groups and games that are out there - if you want yours added, you just need to ask me to add it! Everyone is welcome, and the more links I can get to add, the better. No group will get preferential treatment, and there is to be NO drama between feuding players or groups. Let's face it, Star Trek simming/RPing is not what it used to be. More and more fleets are disappearing, and I want to use this group to help out the thing that I've loved and been a part of for over 15 years.

I hope you'll consider joining, because I'm doing this for everyone who loves Trek simming/RP as much as I do.

You can find the group at The Star Trek Simming/Role-Playing Hub

My Facebook profile; feel free to add me! Benjamin E. Wolf III

Or if you have any questions and don't have Facebook, and would like me to post a link to your group or game, you can email me at benjaminewolfiii@gmail.com.
