Galaxy class would be the comfiest with all the recreational possibilities it has.

But NX would have that on the frontier feeling.

Probert's concept design for the Ambassador class really is awesome and the image featuring it in the Ships of the Line 2012 calendar is one of the best in the series.

My choice for the same reasons. The Galaxy is nice and comfortable, but all that Beige and kids wandering around would get to me eventually...

I wish they had come up with this deign for the Enterprise D back when TNG started. I like this design so much better.

I have always envisioned myself as a civilian freighter captain, like in ENT's "Fortunate Son." So I'd have to say, I'd prefer one of those Y-class ECS freighters.

I would have been just happy and content if they had actually used Mr. Probert's design for the Enterprise-C. ;)

I mean, you can really tell that this beautiful lady's father was a Galaxy and her mother an Excelsior.

In comparison the Enterprise-C we saw on screen strikes me as an unhappy, orphaned little girl. She wants her dad to be a Galaxy but seems to be uncertain whether her mom could be the TOS or TMP Enterprise.

Agree. C looks too much like the lovechild of A and D. Should have had a lot more Excelsior components per the Probert design.

I agree as well. The Enterprise C we were shown is my least favorite of the bunch.

Galaxy class for me, although the Sovereign would be a close second.

Well, I'd expect to serve on multiple ships. A Connie / Connie refit is de rigeur, but I really kinda like the Federation DN / DN refit. At some point a Karekh would be interesting - although I'd never want such a small ship in real life. PCs are a hideous amount of work. Treknology reduces a lot of the labor aspect.
    I've always liked the Chandley.
In later eras, I like the Excelsior, Akira, Defiant, and Sovereign.
If I had to pick just one, I'd go with the Fed DN, as I prefer that era anyway, and there's access to longevity enhancers that'd let me see everything later anyway.

I didn't get this until I realized that you were talking about the Abrams films, not the Mirror Universe. There you'd need to grow a goatee, or get a scar.

/\ Which brings up: What positions do you think you're actually qualified to fill, as opposed to what position you'd like to have.

That was the Enterprise D. Who is to say the later Galaxy class ships didn't have different interior designs?

I have to wonder if the Probert "C" wasn't used because it was so good-looking. They might not have wanted to put a guest ship onscreen that was essentially a better-looking version of the hero ship....

I'll always prefer captaining the ship I got when I became promoted Captain: the IKS Haqtaj, a scientific vessel (refitted Negh'Var class; of course we kept the weaponry). Our mission is to find a substitute for a certain substance, popular in the Empire, that originates on Terra, thus making the Empire independent of Terran imports.
Our Mission's motto is: nuqDaq yuch Dapol?
I'm also the Science Officer (and the one who gets to try all the new samples  ) :D

You are a naughty boy (that's how Andrew Probert felt about the Drex Files commenters saying the same thing).

But you obviously have good taste (that's what I'm saying but Mr. Probert would probably only agree 50%) ;)

It would only be good form for Probert to be modest about the situation.
