    12 issues is incomplete.

    So, so many crossovers.

Yeah that's really the problem with most of the Marvel events, the "core" event books are not really linear, you still have those "STOP! DON'T READ THIS UNTIL YOU'VE READ SUCH AND SUCH ISSUE!" warnings or things happen in the recaps that make you go 'huh wha?'

I really think Marvel should just do a year... without an event. Just let Marvel NOW play out and tell people... just get the MU back where it should be.

Why on earth would they eat into their profits and synergy like that?

To do that... They would have to fire people or/and cancel books.

I dunno, did anything happen in a tie-in that directly impacted the main series? The only thing I can think of is the Iron Fist backstory in New Avengers (but they explained it enough in the main book probably) and the brewing conflict between Colossus and Magik in that one ish of Wolverine & the X-Men.

Secret Avengers was all about the team in space trying to head the Phoenix off before it got to earth.

    That stuff was fun.

I'm pretty sure Valkyrie and Thor had a drunken rut.

It all becomes quickly a white noise mulch.

That is just a recent development. They didn't have the problem with Civil War, World War Hulk, Siege or Disassembled. It emerged or re-emerged after Heroic Age.

That's like saying you need to read the book to enjoy the movie adaption.

I shouldn't have to read all the crossovers and tie-ins to enjoy the main story. Which by the way I am enjoying, despite the aforementioned inconsistencies in the writing.

Most of the tie-ins are better than the actual event book. I think that's what Guy is getting at. Marvel really dropped the ball big time with this event, because basically no one talked to each other to make sure they weren't stepping on each other's toes.

The price and the inconstency (much like Fear Itself) are why I'm passing on the hardcover. A few good issues doesn't justify a whole lot of bad ones.

In that case that is very unfortunate. I'm sure there are others like me who have just collected the main series.

Which means that they have to fire some buggers in the marketing department because they couldn't fully turn you into an unremitting marvel zombie.

It's almost like you would rather buy food, or take your girl fro a night on the tow than buy comics.

    Ridiculous.

I sold a girlfriend to a Russian mobster once to fund some squirrel girl back issues.

You need to sort out your priorities.

    They're framed above my mantelpiece.

If you stick a woman under glass and hang her in your living room, then you're almost some sort of monster.

(This is going to get dark.)

Well of course she's alive in the beginning.

Otherwise the paintball gear would be pointless and redundant and redundant.

But if you can keep her breathing.

    kibble and water.

You can trade your installation with your neighbours like they're pokemon cards or marbles.

If you had one of those Japanese sex dolls that looks like a life sized anime character, oooo Queen Beryl from Sailor Moon... and wished to the blue fairy that she would turn into a real girl... Unless she started as a blank slate with no memories of life as a sex doll, she would wake up screaming and then begin a regime of speedy suicide attempts until she gets it right.

Anyone else find it really odd that AVSX #5 made absolutely no mention of Warren/Angel being an amnesiac with no memory of his past? For that matter, why is he even fighting so strongly when he's a blank slate? Or did something happen in X-Force I stopped reading it...
