There were rumours today that Donal Logue had been offered the role of Gordon but he apparently denied it on twitter. I'm too lazy to link.

Logue would make a pretty good Bullock IMO.

There's so much hype surrounding this show, that a single thread just won't cut it, ha?

^Lol. I think this thread originated when, as the title shows, the series was envisaged more as a sort of Law and Order set in Gotham and set during the 8 year gap between TDK and TDKR. The second thread was started when it became clear that the series was more of a sort of Smallville in Gotham, but centring on Gordon (though Wayne seems to be more prominent than was originally anticipated). I guess they're too big for the mods to merge.

So, a newcomer and a kid who barely ever spoke on his previous show (at least, in the few episodes I saw of Touch; don't know what happened later). I have no idea what to expect from either of them.

Dude, they're kids. How many references did you expect?!

Besides, the boy not talking much on "Touch" actually comes to the role's advantage, doesn't it?! I mean, young Bruce shortly after the murder of his parents wouldn't be much of a talker.

I don't know, one speaking role?

Actually, I didn't "expect" anything, it was merely an observation that I have no idea how they'll perform based on prior appearances. It wasn't a judgement call on the potential quality of the show, which I have every intention of watching regardless.

IIRC, the kid did eventually speak on Touch.

Well, you'll be happy to know the girl's casting has been acclaimed as "good" and "very good" on this same board, so I guess there's no chance her acting won't be up to the task. :p

As I said in my second sentence, it's good casting based on what she looks like and a dance background that should be helpful in portraying a cat burglar. Beyond that, casting directors usually do a good job in picking people who can act for network shows, but that part of course remains to be seen.
