I'd oput the Hargh'peng Torpedo in the rear; and also put it on autofire as any Boff Torpedo skills DO NOT affect or work with the Hargh'peng because of it's special proc (they did that for balance reasons.) The best things about the Hargh'peng are it's speed to target and the proc.

Also, I prefer Quantum Torpedoes over Photons as Torpedoes do the most damage directly to the hull (IE if the enemy has shields up when they hit - damage is reduced. Quantums are the fastest Torpedos (IE travel the fastest to the target); so once you have a shield down on an enemy - they have a better chance of getting there before the AI gets a shield facing back up.

Also, you want to get Mk VI versions of the weapons and gear as well as you're able to.

I'm interested in people's opinions about the new STF ship sets. Does anyone have them and can tell me what they are like. Would saving my Encrypted Data Chips for purple doffs be a better buy?

Cool chart. The Enterprise F looks great next to the others.

There's plenty of schools of thought on this.

I actually typically have only one torpedo launcher, in my fore weapons and everything else is a beam array. I do a lot of attacking from Starboard and Port. Also, it comes in really handy when a Heavy Plasma Torpedo or a minefield or a lot of small vessels or fighters are coming my way, combining a lot of beam arrays with the Fire at will ability and emergency power to weapons can be very powerful.

Are items you previously bought, like liberated borg bridge officers, no longer unlocked for the entire account?

As long as it was before F2P started then it should still be account wide. If not, you might want to submit a ticket.

All previous C-Store unlocks can be found under Legacy Unlocks.

Yes they should, most of what you had purchased from the C-Store prior to F2P should be in your "Legacy Unlocks" Tab (expecially if you bought the Enterprise Bundle or TOS Bundle) - except for some ships which will still appear as 'purchased' or 'available' in the 'Ships' tab on the C-Store window.

I have the Tetryons in there because of their abilty to disable shields. It gives me an extra chance of their sheilds dropping before the torpedoes hit.

At least the Captain level ships start becoming interesting again. The CMDR level ships are the worst design, IMO. None of them were of any interest to me, just tried to blow past them and back into real ships again. Weak link in the ship progression.

Stupid Question, but are you running max power level? Also keep in mind that the Galaxy class has room for so many beams, they really eat into your power reserves. Good power management is essential for cruisers.
Second stupid question: are you running anything higher then Mk VI weapons?

I was going to wait my new computer, before I start to play..but my inner Trekkie was screaming "Play now":rommie::)(Yeah, I had to scale down the graphics quite a lot but that is OK)

Now after playing this for the past two days, I am enjoying it a lot. The story lines are interesting..and all the familiar names and places warm my heart:bolian:
Space battles are fun and ground combat seems fine to me, though I wonder why my officers like to run to my line of fire so much.
It took while to learn many of the things but luckily that is mostly part of the good times.

    I made to Lt.Commander today.
It took along time to choose if to take an cruiser or an escort. I ended up choosing an escort, because of my characters tactical origin.
Though, I must say that most escort-ship types do not look very good, appearance vice. It Seems that cruisers and science vessels are generally better looking.
But I am happy of my ship anyway..and I love the turning rate and the firepower. Though little ship;)
I will maybe choose cruisers, when I make another character later.
