    Awesome! :D
And yes, the FC Sovvy would be a godsend in this game.

So, I spent (an aggregate) two hours today trying to get my build and Boff balance up to something I could appreciate, and I think I've done it. I was in Ker'rat a while ago, and took on a Tac Odyssey, and a BoP. Anyway, so they start tearing through all of these other players, and me being one who likes to foolishly step into such things, but also wanting to test my new setup, decided to take him on. :ouch:

At first, it was myself and three other ships against the two of them, but eventually, everyone else left except for him and his BoP friend, and for about 10 minutes, we just fought back and forth. Finally, after blowing up the BoP (who never returned), I got him down to his last few points, but then he sped off, way out of weapons range in a split second. Still, I did it! :D

So, my DPS is about what it used to be, my defense is back to at least what it once was, and having survived this PvP match, I can honestly say I'm satisfied with the results.

The Galaxy class is a popular one, but I've never liked it. In fact my free Galaxy Refit has never been taken out. You do have a few choices though with the Galaxy, Refit, and Dreadnought. Plus the Nebula/Nebula Refit is it's Science sister. I've also seen some successful Galaxy tanks.

Well, I'm more of a fan of the Galaxy. I've always liked the look of it. The Nebula is an other favorite. The Odyssey, while an intresting ship in some ways, and certainly full of potential for some nice build what with it's capacity, is a bit too derivative in it's design of the Sovereign in my opinion. The Soverign was such a new design compared to the Galaxy class that I feel the Odessey as a new flagship, didn't break the amount of new ground that I would have liked. The split neck is a good element though.

Seeing them side by side really shows they are very different.
The saucer is arrow shaped and the engineering hull is nothing like the slim sovereign's at all.

Yeah I keep getting an Excelsior to the Soverign's Connie vibe from it.

I flew my Excelsior next to an Odyssey yesterday, and it looked like an AMC Gremlin driving next to a semi-truck.

Well, nothing. I got L3 Diplomatic and there's no transwarp option for Sierra-39. I guess I'll have to submit a ticket, which means I'll never see anything come from it. :borg:

EDIT: It just now appeared. It's listed as "Starbase 39 Sierra"

"Sir, there appears to be dirt on the hull"
"What?" [looks out window] "Oh, no, that's just an escort".

    Glad it's working for you!

Some internet searching shows that I'm not the only one with the problem, but developers say that it'll take a lot of work to fix the issue. I submitted a ticket, which vanished, without any change. Hooray.

Aw, man. Sorry you're having so much trouble. I was about ready to submit a ticket, too, when it just popped right up. Good luck on getting it fixed!

    Tribble has some new features.

Ship Interior Doff contacs and actual dilithium mining!

Edit: The ship Interior missions seem pretty cool. Not to thrilled about the NPC contacts. While they are in their appropriate places on the ship, this feature just screams DEPARTMENT HEADS (With the exception of the Bartender, Chef and possibly the counselor. Instead they are generic crewmen.
I am uncertain about some of the missions requiring dilithium now without returning any but like that food has a purpose now (oh dear, my bank AND inventory is always full these days anyway and dear god, I DON't want to put food into the bank together with tribbles!!!)
The military guy hanging around the ready room has a plethora of military and espionage missions who I will be visiting frequently from now on. In fact, I will do most of my doffing from my ship now, there is more then enough assignments to fill all mission slots.
Visiting the appropriate contacts should make it that much easier to find usefull assignments to level in specific departments.
This is gonne be paradise for Rocketeer!

Can't say anything about the mining event yet, I just managed to look at the starting room on the mining asteroid.
My Tribble toon hasn't completed The 2800 yet, so didn't have the EVA suit. There is a Ferengi that sells you some for dilithium, but those suits are bugged. You can't exit the airlocks with those atm unlike the mission suit.

Cool, I need to check those out. Unfortunately, I haven't finished the FEs yet. Been really busy with work and life.

On DOFF assignments, I focus on three things: Diplomatic, the character's area and chain assignments. If I see something that offers a bit of dilithium, I might take it. (Except for my crafters, all other characters are converting dilithium into C-points.)

On the FE Boldly They Rode, it is possible to go down the left side of the crash. It's a little challenging but I managed. (You don't get anything special for going that way except a different perspective.)

The mining mini-game looks like this:

You have to line up and increase/decrease the targeting reticle to start mining dilithium. However the thing shifts about fairly frequently.

So it's those three-beam mining "lasers" that the workers on Rura Penthe used in ST VI. Nice.

So, the solution to your concern that they "just [count] the dollars spent in the C-store" is to put more things in the C-store...

Rocketeer may not have phrased it correctly, but I do think he raises a valid concern that monthly STO subscribers are currently facing. And the concern is that despite the fact that monthly subscribers are already paying $10-$15 every month, they still have to pay for stuff in the C-Store at the same price that F2P players pay.

In contrast to other MMOs like Turbine's LOTRO and DDO, who automatically provide the majority of content updates, features and adventure packs to monthly subscribers for free, it does seem that Cryptic may not be giving monthly subscribers the value that they deserve for providing Cryptic with a steady revenue stream.

Possible solutions? They include what Rocketeer said, and that is to make a real distinction between F2P and subscribers in the C-Store. Just tossing out ideas here, I have no idea how feasible they are... perhaps give subscribers more stuff that F2P players normally have to pay for? Or give subscribers massive (more than 50%) discounts on C-Store some items?

Stop twisting my words. There is too much stuff in the C-store already. I think you missed my post about charging Silvers for FEs or special content.
