I find it more disturbing that what looks like a pimply-faced middle schooler is using language like that.

Not sure what middle school you went to, but that's exactly how they talk these days.

My oldest is in middle school now, but it is a Catholic school. Yes, when I was in middle school I heard some of my friends talk like that. But I'm a parent now, and if I ever heard my son talking like that, we'd have *words*.

I graduated from junior high school in 1989 and from high school in 1992. And as recent as that was, I heard the F-word far, far less often and more infrequently when I was in school than you do nowadays. And when I did hear it is usually revolved around the act of sex and wasn't just some gratuitous word thrown around to be used with and refer to anything and everything imaginable.

^I work at a middle/high school. I noticed not only has the frequence of swearing increased, but how they use it. They talk to the staff as if they were our peers. The way they talk to us, you'd think we all were students too.

I went to a Catholic school from third to the first half of fifth grade (1976-78) in Iowa. Then transferred to a public school mid fifth grade when we moved to California. It may be a little shocking to some, but the language on the playground at the Iowa Catholic school was twice as bad as it was at the California public school.

Hell, in my Catholic High School, all we did WAS swear. It was pretty much the only "bad" thing we COULD do.

Well, sure, but typically the way kids talk in front of their parents is a lot different than how they talk with their friends.
