I tend to pay pretty close attention to who actors are and what stuff the've done. So it's pretty easy for me to think back over the people I'm familiar with to try to find someone who fits a character.
The same with me. Mentally, I'm reusing the same actors over and over again for different characters. With each new series I watch - if I watch something - I try to memorize the faces so my physiognomy catalogue expands. Its worse with aliens because you've got to imagine all the rubber applied to their faces. Every third Cardassian in my head looks like Damar.
Because of all the foreign movies i watch, sometimes have a hard time recognizing current movie stars.
I'm only familiar with Vale from the TNG/DS9 relaunch books but in my head, I imagine JAG's Catherine Bell in the role. (Unfortunately, from recent photos, she appears to have had some work done.) In the role of Nan Bacco, either Blair Brown or Marsha Mason. In the role of Atia, it might sound weird but I thought of Jane Lynch. (She's done drama before.)
I can see that. But all I can say is, the more I see of Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, the more she strikes me as a perfect fit for how I imagined Vale all along.
I just looking through my Trek Lit cast lists I put together a while back and noticed I don't have one for Voy-R. So I started putting one together. Here's what I've got so far: Starring Robert Beltran as Captain Chakotay Also starring Robert Duncan McNeil as Lieutenant Commander Tom Paris Roxanne Dawson as Lieutenant Commander B’Elanna Torres ? as Lietenant Nancy Conlon Garrett Wang as Lieutenant Harry Kim Robert Picardo as The Doctor Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine ? as Doctor Sharak ? as Lieutenant Devi Patel ? as Ensign Kenth Lasren ? as Ensign Aytar Gwyn With Angela Basset as Fleet Captain Afsara Eden Hugh Laurie as Lieutenant Hugh Cambridge and Kate Mulgrew as Captain Kathering Janeway Special Guest Stars: Ethan Phillips as Neelix Dwight Schultz as Lieutenant Reginald Barclay Alexander Enberg as Lieutenant Vorik ? as Admiral William Batiste Guest Stars: ? as Captain Regina Farkas ? as Captain Parimon Dast ? as Commander Tillum Drafar ? as Captain Xin Chan ? as Commander Clarrisa Glen ? as Captain Bal Itak ? as Captain Hosc T’Mar ? as Captain Liam O’Donnel ? Commander Atlee Fife ? as Meegan McDonnell
In my head, I cast Cliff DeYoung as Liam O'Donnell. It's not a perfect fit for the description, but I like the actor. I try not to see Don Knotts as Fife.
Thank you. I know there was someone who's named I had heard mentioned for Batiste before, but I couldn't remember who it was. Added him.
Conlon originated in the Corps of Engineers series, and I always imagined her played by Jaime Ray Newman.
Is she described as blond in the books? I always imagined her as having dark hair. Edit: Added her to my list.
I think at one point I pictured David Costabile as O'Donnell. I can't remember the character's physical description, so that may be off, but I just remember thinking that during one of the books.
Others have suggested that, and I really can't. I've tried, but all I see is Starbuck with different colored hair. To me, it doesn't work.
Starbuck is male. Nu-BSG never happened. It didn't. The original BSG is what happened. So forget Nu-BSG ever happened (awful remake) and you'll then be able to put Katee in the roll of Vale. Besides, Katee is much better in Longmire then Nu-BSG anyway,
Liam Cunningham(game of thrones)as O'Donnell. The blond guy from The good wife as Fife.(Matt Czurchy???)
Neither BSG happened. They were stories portrayed by actors on soundstages, reading from scripts. What a waste of time to argue over which imaginary story is more imaginary.
