Picard: What I didn't put in the report, was that at the end, he gave me a choice between a life of comfort or more torture. All I had to do was to say that I could see 5 lights, when in fact, there were only 4.

Picard: No, no, but I was going to. I would have told him anything. Anything at all. But more than that, I believed that I could see Five Lights.

The one thing that always stood out to me about this ep is that if you look at the way all the shots of Madred are framed and lit, you almost get the sense that there could be a fifth light that was always just out of camera range.

Congratulations, guys! I've been busy this weekend doing Easter stuff with the family, but I will get the randomizer going tomorrow and get us off on our next adventure.

In the meantime, Happy Easter everyone!

    Ziz....

That's what I've always thought as well. I thought it would have been even more powerful for the camera to pan up to reveal that Madred had installed a fifth light in order to make Picard believe he was seeing a light that wasn't really there.

It would have made Madred all the more evil. We, the audience, would know that there really were five lights. However, at the end of the episode, Picard would have believed that he had been broken when he really hadn't.

CoveTom's usually been pretty slow on starting the Enterprise episodes. I'll give him till the end of the evening, then risk the wrath and start it.
