Yeah, it's pretty awesome. And thanks for linking it. Yes, it's from the forthcoming "The Night the Stars Fell from the Sky" by David Eversole. There are two vignettes in front of it.

I have to tell you, I'm looking forward to this more than any other film I expect to see released between now and the end of February. I'm REALLY EXCITED about it.

    Glad you liked it!

Here's what we've been doing this weekend:

Pictured: Eric Holt as Kugh, Jeremy Ellenberger as Mugh, Sara Higgins MacKenzie as Ensign Yanari, and Special Guest Star Keith Harris (of Starship Lexington) as "Carter Winston"

On October 20th, at a nearby field in Albany, Georgia, the cast and crew of Project: Potemkin set up and filmed David Eversole's vignette, "Beach Towel." The weather was very pleasant even as we met at 9:00am. On hand were the four cast members listed above as well as Executive Producer/Cameraman Randy Landers, Director Bill MacKenzie Lieutenant Caley), Richard Thorton (Lieutenant Frazier) who did the makeup, Amanda Cook who helped out as well, and Potemkin's hostess Linda Marcusky who always sets a good table for the cast and crew.

Filming took place until 3:00pm (with a 30 minute lunch break). Everyone did great; everyone had a good time shooting this action-filled script. Afterwards, we wrapped the Klingons and moved Keith and Sara to the transporter room set (and brought in Pamela Robinson (Lieutenant Tara Storm) for the vignette's conclusion.

We've posted LOTS of pictures at our Facebook group:

Overall, it was just another great day filming for Potemkin!

One of our actors, Mario Pagan, who just appeared in "The Engineer's New Clothes" and who directed and edited the forthcoming "The Devil in the Details," appears in tonight's WALKING DEAD on AMC. He's a walker behind the prison fence in a scene with Glenn and Carol. This is his network television debut. Congrats, Mario!

While we were busy filming S02-E "Beach Towel" (15) this weekend, VFX artist RH Barr was busy bringing S01-2 "The Night the Stars Fell from the Sky" (10) to life:

Looks good so far! The movement between the opening pan and the near-seamless marriage to the live action footage is well done, too.

Looking forward to the completed show!

Thanks, Double-oh! We appreciate the kind words.

We're making progress on this episode in particular! And we've two others in the VFX pipeline (with different VFX artists). Should be interesting to see how all three compare!

Thanks, Nick. Keith did terrific, and Sara's costuming of the outfit was perfect!

The footage has been captured on the main computer at Fast Copy (backup), and the tape sent to editor Rick Foxx for his capture and editing.

Here's another shot of the Potemkin in orbit above a previously unexplored planet from the forthcoming "The Night the Stars Fell from the Sky." RH Barr is responsible for the effects; model by Dennis Bailey.

And I'm thrilled at how good the live-action Klingons look in purple!

You know, this vignette was based on the animated series, so it only seemed proper to try to pay homage to the purple and purple uniforms of its Klingons. :)
