What Did You Have For Dinner Last Night?

I'm sure it was. It sounds wonderful!

 

What happened? Did the hubby not appreciate the "wife soup"?

 

Some boil in the bag chicken and gravy thing.. It tasted of plastic.

He looked at the food, reluctantly took a bite, made a face, declared that it "doesn't taste like anything" and then pushed the bowl away. Over a meal that I specifically tried to adapt for his tastes and worked on for more than an hour.

I'm making meatloaf this weekend, my version that he likes even more than what his mom makes. And then I'm going to eat it all myself. That's right, I might be petty, I might end up fat. But to me, cooking a meal for someone shows love and caring and you don't turn it away like that.

I was raised in a house where you couldn't pick and choose and where you had to eat what was on the table and you were to show gratitude for it. If he doesn't want my cooking, he can make frozen pizzas for himself.

You know, I actually asked the waitress (who recommended it) to wait while I tasted it because it sounded too bizarre, just in case it needed to be sent back on grounds on distasteful horribleness. Instead, she got a decent tip at the end of the meal for her good taste!

 

That'll teach him not to be appreciative.

Had a good day at work (a nice bit of extra private business came my way while on call today) so had a slap-up Chinese meal with a friend. Feeling fat and happy now.

 

Tonight's dinner: same as it has been for over a year (except a few small occassions):



Unfortunately I can't find this particular kind of the brand in regular shapes, so I got to eat like a fucking six year old. Or maybe I could make the best of it, and reinact THIS while eating...

I went out to German restaurant I haven't been to for a while and had a bunch of yummy things I don't remember how to spell off the top of my head.

 

Seriously, I'm not kidding here:

What IS it?

It doesn't even look like food.

 

I had Subways.

 

Chicken tenders/nuggets, shaped like dinosaurs.

You've eaten chicken nuggets every day for a year? Voluntarily?

 

I noted there were exceptions. My tastebuds have had no complaints. Anyway, a small dinner full of protein and low on fat helped me lose over 50 pounds (in combination with exercise), so...

 

Desire to be petty is wavering ...

 

I'm on a low-carb diet so it was the same thing as most nights - protein and more protein. I had a steak with salad (a small amount of blue cheese dressing)...yum...

 

I like chicken nuggets, but I think I usually have them only once a month

Last night was Steak and Kidney Pie and Chips (fries for those that way inclined)

Not particularly healthy, but nice enough for all that.
