Robin doesn't have to be young but he does need to be written and acted well. Neither of these were to be found in "Batman Forever" or "Batman Forever".

Well, yes. Though, I'll defend "Batman Forever", it certainty has it's very weak parts. Though I think the set-up and introduction of Dick was handled very well. However, the follow-through was shoddy.

And in "Batman Forever" (;)), the conflict that Robin and Batman have is, again, nicely set-up, but the follow-through execution was incredibly lackluster.

Its kind of who he is. No point in using the character otherwise.

I liked "Batman Forever" despite it's flaws. "Batman and Robin" though just ramped up the camp to another level.

Yes, Forever is a solid summer action flick. Batman & Robin is just an exercise in wtf?!

That being said, I love Batman & Robin because it is so awesomely terrible. When and if I upgrade to Blu-Ray, B&R will be one of my first purchases! :p

My brother and I watch occasionally because of Alica Silverstone. I still find it amusing that they decided to change Babs character and make her Alfred's niece. Probably because they came to the conclusion that the Pat Hingle Gordon wouldn't have any family lol. I never viewed him as a family man. My favorite scene in "Batman and Robin" is when Barbara discovers who Bruce is. It's just so over the top and ridiculous. Why on Earth would a computer project a green light show practically announcing to anyone in the room that they're Batman and Robin!!!

Well, in fairness, Gordon was never a major player in that series. Also, since one of the themes of that movie was the notion of family, recasting Babs as a relative of Alfred helped tighten that theme to bring it home a little bit more.

It is kinda like in Batman Returns when the Bat Signal shined several spotlights (as mini Bat Symbols) shine in practically every room in Wayne Manor. Good thing Bruce wasn't having a charity event!

I thought he was in pre-production for Dark Shadows with... yep... Johnny Depp.

"Alice in Wonderland" also had Depp and Carter I believe. "Dark Shadows" is in pre-production and I thought Depp wasn't a lock for that?

He's pretty much the reason they're making it...

There was some casting news on Deadline Hollywood. Jack Earl Haley might be in it.

I so hated Alice in Wonderland... ugh.

Tim Burton USED to be inventive...

I hated "Alice in Wonderland" as well. Burton wrecked a wonderful script with tons of potential to be a really special film. Ah well.

Yeah, he has Frankenweenie in production as a stop motion animated feature. Then he's making Dark Shadows.

Yeah, and expanding it into a full-length feature using stop motion animation.

The idea that they're scouting for locations for a Robin hideout makes me yell bullshit on this one.
