Don't get your hopes high - new covers are only done if the originals are not deemed awesome enough. The Titan series has the original covers, for example.

The existing cover for IFM can be considered awesome...
The only change I could see would be adding Captains La Forge and Scott to the cover.

^ FWIW I've asked on their forum if they have decided yet if there will be a new cover and linked to your post here. We'll see if/when they'll answer.

They've also relvealed their covers for the first four Typhon Pact translation, and a new Muddless cover for the translation of Mudd in Your Eye. You can see them on sited linked to above or at The Trek Collective.

Tell them if they want any input on stuff like suggestions for colloquialisms, I'd be happy to help directly. (I can get by in German, and my wife has a degree in German literature)

If there will be a new cover hasn't been decided yet. It will be discussed in late February during an editorial conference.

I don't know about you but I find this exciting!

Btw, I wonder what the German title might be.
Ununterscheidbar von Magie or Von Magie ununterscheidbar is kind of a stumbling block.

How about Technik ist magisch/Engineering is Magic! (just joking)

Well, it is of course a quote of Arthur C. Clarke's "Third Law" that "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." So the question would be, how is that phrase generally translated in German?

"Jede hinreichend fortgeschrittene Technologie ist von Magie nicht mehr zu unterscheiden."

That's where I got my proposal from, I just dropped the "mehr" from it to shorten it a bit.

I finished this book today and for the most part enjoyed it. Sorry if it has been discussed, but has it been explained how Alyssa was CMO on Challenger when she holds this position on Titan? Had she previously left Titan and I've forgotten?!

Chapter 4 states that Alyssa Ogawa transferred from Titan to Challenger some time ago.

But if you mean Alyssa's transfer itself, no novel has (yet) depicted this. However, Fallen Gods, taking place in November 2382, a matter of weeks before Indistinguishable from Magic, ends with the slipstream-capable Capitoline meeting up with Titan for "crew rotations". Fallen Gods makes no hint of it despite being published after Indistinguishable from Magic, but I think it is plausible that off-page, Alyssa Ogawa received word of the Challenger's impending new mission and accepted the offer to transfer, utilizing the Capitoline to get home.

Yes, however in Starfleet nurses and doctors cross train -- especially in the wake of the Dominion War and then Destiny.

I think you might've posted in the wrong thread? It sounds like this post was intended for the Uncertain Logic thread.

Alyssa Ogawa says all that in Chapter 4 of Indistinguishable from Magic.
