Can't do nothin' without a plan, son!

That's what pre-production is all about - planning and designing and tailoring the elements of the story so they can be filmed. This month, Albertese asked us not just to design something new, but to show us a process behind it, a pre-production process for a previously-unseen episode from any of the live-action series. A unique challenge, to be sure, but the guys stepped up once more.

Now, it's up to you, the 'director,' to choose the design you're going to put on the air! Only one choice - remember, you've got a budget! :)

D'oh! Sorry about that - I just switched website hosts, and the new one (GoDaddy) apparently is case-sensitive; I had the file extensions in the wrong case. Must be Linux ...

I too voted Admiral2. I love how well it looks like something MJ or WC would have done. That said, all three are pretty awesome. It was a pretty tough choice. Thanks for participating with my crazy idea this month!

Can't wait to see what we're challenged to for April '09!

Starscape, although Admiral2´s contribution is a close second (if the center of the Orion ship weren´t that flimsy).

    a vote for the admiral!

an excellent vessel, though it reminds me of star frontiers as much as star trek.
which is a good thing, i loved playing star frontiers.

All nice ideas - I'm glad Klaus decided against the crossed rings, though ;). I'd like to see some orthos of Starscape's hospital ship - I really like some of the considered designs, incl. the 4-nacelled version, but the hardest thing to tell is just exactly what the ship looks like, because the camera is distorting it
(not necessarily a bad thing - I like the long nose/short nacelles look of the final version in the rendered image :)).

I voted for Admiral2 - it's a good original design that I'm eager to see detailed and finished, with hopefully some dramatic shots :bolian: (the final image included - good angle!)

Squeeeeeeeek - that's the sound of Admiral2 bringing home the win in this month's challenge. Congratulations, Admiral2 - well done! We hope you've had your thinking cap on for the April challenge - the moderator made the next deadline that much closer  (and we're still looking forward to seeing more development on this ship - either from you or from some other interested soul if you find your duties as April challenger taking up too much of your time ;)).

Thanks, too, to Klaus and Starscape - who came within a hair's breadth of the gold - for participating; you always present some great stuff, so it's always tough to decide upon whom to vote for.

    Let the games begin!!
