Thread title is the question, if you don't mind sharing what is bliss - serenity to you? I am not talking about the Firefly movie of course. Have you ever experienced a moment of serenity?

My serenity is being out in the middle of a grassy field surrounded by trees. The sunlight shining through the tree leaves and branches, just the sound of nature with a slight breeze. Just the sounds and the soft breeze. I haven't unfortunately experienced this for more than a fleeing second. I live in a populated area and the sound of nature is drowned out by human activity. That is one of the reasons I am looking at 248 acres of seclusion in northern Georgia mountains, it took me a while but I found my serenity and I am reaching for it.

Lying in my husband's arm, sleeping in late, feeling so...at peace.

And then one of us has to pee. Always happens. :(

After baseball: My penultimate serenity is having a big breakfast on days that I don't work.

Part of my district is one of the biggest European National parks. Only a fraction of it is open to public. The rest is heavily protected and only the rangers and I may go wherever we want. It's absolute bliss to stand on a mountain top, knowing the next human is at least 15 miles away, looking down over a sea of rolling hills, covered in blue-ish forrest, wave after wave, each bluer than the previous one till the last one melts into the sky.

Difficult to explain. You'd have to see it.

    Hmmm......

This gives maybe a vague impression:

There's an excellent slide show of the public part: http://andy69.onpw.de/Bayrischer%20Wald/index.html#
You can start a slide show by clicking on the big picture and then choose the second icon from the right (play symbol). The fat arrow pointing up will bring you back to the start page.
Alternatively, you can get a preview of the 60 pics under the big one (there's a scroll bar on the right side) and open any of them by clicking on it. Again, the arrow up will bring you back to the start.

Btw, according to legend, Bavaria was made from the bits that were left after the creation of Paradise. If you've seen the pics you'll propably agree :)

thank you :) I'm so in love with this country that I really get homesick after 2 or 3 weeks abroad. Judging by photos I've seen, British Columbia looks a bit similar, though :)

Being with my significant other out in the nature, hearing nothing but the light breeze and the birds and feeling the warm sun on my skin.

I can't do that very often but I try.

Try Sunday 6 am. At that time you can jay walk on Sepulveda, take a stroll through Inglewood, get a parking space near the Hollywood sign and have all of Sta. Monica Beach to yourself =)
And no tourists (apart from me :D)
