This is so awesome and cool. Apparently cats have a build in regeneration mode and don't just purr for being adorable. [yt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KowU4tPi7Q[/yt]
The space applications are very interesting. If bone density can be maintained just by strapping several cats to an astronaut, I say we go for it. Besides, we can't bring dogs on deep space missions because they can't go outside to poop.
The bone density thing is neat. I knew cats purred for all sorts of reasons, but I had no idea that certain sound frequencies actually encouraged healthy bones.
Dogs can be trained to use a litter box. The animal crap, along with the human feces, could be bagged up and used to line the ship interior walls against interstellar radiation. Everybody wins!
I, for one, welcome our new feline overlords. Plus, if the astronaut falls, he'll always land on his feet!
Neither did I. No wonder why one of the kitties I had when I was growing up healed up as well as she did. She was one resilient cat . And one of my best friends to boot.
After watching that video I want to know is how loud would those 689 cats if they all purred at once.
