The poster has been released via MTV. The trailer. I love the tagline.
    NEW MODEL. ORIGINAL PARTS.
For those going :wtf:, yes the title is nearly identical to the first installment. All that is missing are the articles, thats "and" & "the" for those who didn't do well school.

The Fast and the Furious (2001) $144M/$62.7=$207m worldwide
    2Fast 2Furious (2003) $127/$109m=$236m worldwide
The Fast and the Furious:Tokyo Drift (2006)$62m/$95m=$158m worldwide

So will ORIGINAL PARTS get this franchise revved up again?

Couldn't stand the first one, too much of a car guy and there were too many things that made me roll my eyes to make it enjoyable. The second one was terrible, didn't bother with the third.

It's a shame that they didn't hire people who knew things about cars to write the original. Not looking forward to this, I doubt I'll see it.

Boy, Vin's star has sure fallen to the point where he's returning to franchises he wanted no part of. Next up for him is another XXX.

Maybe Diesel tried to pull a Russell Crowe/Robert De Niro and plumped up for a role. As opposed to, say, this guy:

The third one was actually the best, IMO- Once you get past the annoying oldest-schoolboy-in-town opening (and his accent!) you get an unusual setting, good thrills and fun, *and* Sonny Chiba!

I thought the first one was decent daft fun, albeit strange for a car chase movie to be filled with car chases which have no corners or turns!

The second one was pretty rubbish though.

Had no idea a fourth was so near completion- I'll give it a go. Nice to see Diesel back (though I'd rather see Wheelman, his upcoming Transporter knockoff), but not so keen to see Wooden Walker back.

Oh, I like Vin Diesel actually, quite a bit. He's a bit of a geek like us, into sci-fi and video games. He does movies for paychecks but he's also pretty sincere about some of his work, especially if he's involved with it beyond just acting.

He's trying to get another two Riddick movies made, those are his babies.

I like Vin Diesel to and was sad to see his career implode (The Pacifier, really Vin?)

This outting of F&F looks good and interesting to me, it'll be interesting to see him back. Even though, yeah, the car stuff in it will be absurd and OTT.

You mean there are people who don't double-declutch (like Vin Diesel suggests in a modern synchromesh car)? :D

I have to say, I loved both the original & the sequel (haven't seen the third). They're completely stupid and the car stuff is appalingly badly written a lot of the time, but I just love the fun, silly ride of it all.

The double-clutching remark was not nearly as bad as zooming through the rotary engine FD RX-7 and showing pistons. :scream:

That said I liked F&F and will be going to see the new one. Glad to see Vin Diesel back on screen.

    I haven't seen it but didn't he have a cameo in FatF:3?
I'll be Netflixing both sequels to prep for this in April. Rumor is that "Left cheek, left cheek" himself from pt.2 is also showing up in this one.

If he gets the Riddick movies made I'll be impressed. His involvement and ability to get F&F:4 made is impressive and it seems he's working his magic at the XXX franchise as well. So who knows, perhaps Riddick will get his sequels.

It's definitely reassuring to see that it's the same director as last time, and shares of the same cast.

The first was lame, since I paid matinee price to see it.

The second one was delightfully awful, like a Miami Vice episode written by the staff of Lowrider Monthy. I paid second run price to see it.

I never saw the third one...no Paul Walker was a deal breaker. Without him calling someone "bro"...I mean...the charm is gone.

The fifth one should have Steven Seagal as Vin's character's dad.

Yep. It's a very sort one towards the end. So long as you're paying attention you won't miss it. :)
