"Homer, what's your least favourite country - France or Italy? Ha! No one ever says Italy!" *arms missile* "If you wouldn't mind killing someone on the way out, that'd help me a lot." "Homer, would you mind putting my coat on the wall?" "Sure" *looks around circular glass room confused* "Relax Homer! We don't believe in walls here in Globex! As a matter of fact, I didn't even give you my coat!"
I was in line today buying some groceries and I started busting out laughing. People looked at me funny, but I didn't care. I was thinking of this scene from Grade School Confidential: Maude: "Just a minute, Edna. I don't think we're talking about love here. We're talking about S-E-X in front of the C-H-I-L-D-R-E-N." Krusty: "Sex Cauldron?! I thought they closed that place down!" J.
Mr. Burns (addressing grade school class): I'll keep this short and sweet. Family. Religion. Friendship. These are the three demons you must slay if you wish to succeed in business. When opportunity knocks, you don't want to be sitting in some phoney-baloney church (pauses for emphasis) or synagogue. Any questions?
The Simpsons has that effect a lot. If I'm in a situation where I need to be quiet the line "Don't forget to give her Smeckler's Powder" has a way of working it's way into my mind.
What episode is that from? Oh my god. They Saved Lisa's Brain. Every time I see this one I'm on the verge of tears when Stephen Hawking's chair produces a boxing glove and punches Homer in the face for faking his robotic voice to get a free drink
And the hilarious deleted scene, seen in the 137 Episode Spectacular special: James Bond-like character: As he's being dragged off by hte bad guy's henchmen, "Wait -- aren't you at least going to tell me your secret plans for world domination?!" Bad guyt pardoying a nameless villain from For Your Eyes Only: Walking with, petting his cat, "Ha, ha! I'm not going to fall for that again!"
i had a "great-big-belly-laugh" when i read this today, from the Nasa feed "Butterfly habitats successfully installed into Commercial Generic Bioprocessing Apparatus on ISS. Butterflynauts doing well. Photos Thurs." made me think of Homer in space fighting the ants and eatin potato chips!
Which had some great lines in and of itself. Homer had some of the better lines this episode: Lisa: "Dad, Mom said she'd be home to help me with my costume and she's not, and the geography pageant is tonight!" Homer: "Lisa, your mom still loves you. It's just that she has a career now. She's a slot-jockey." Lisa: "I'm not a state, I'm a monster!" Homer: "No, Lisa. The only monster here is the gambling monster that has enslaved your mother! I call him Gamblor, and it's time to snatch your mother from his neon claws!" J.
Yeah, Season 3 looks good, and has some fantastic episodes: Stark Raving Dad When Flanders Failed Homer Defined Like Father, Like Clown Saturdays of Thunder Flaming Moe's Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk Homer at Bat Radio Bart Colonel Homer Brother Can You Spare Two Dimes? Great, great episodes from that season. J.
Homer at the Bat is my favourite episode from season 3 if not seasons 1-3. Or even 1-4. "I told you to get rid of those sideburns dammit!" "Mr Burns, I don't know what you think sideburns are..." *paraphrasing this one* "Well Smithers, certainly an accident could befall one, even two of my softball stars. Maybe even three at the outside. But nine? Ha! I'd pay to see that!" Cue: Clemens is made to think he is a chicken due to a bad hypnotist; Boggs is knocked unconscious by Barney in a rather odd argument over the greatest British prime minister of all time Griffey overdoses on nerve tonic, resulting in an extreme case of gigantism; Sax is arrested by the incompetent police force, because they assume he is guilty of every unsolved crime that took place where he lives in New York City (always my favourite - "Heard a guy got shot in New York, never found the guy who did it...") Smith disappears in the "Springfield Mystery Spot," which is apparently a portal to another dimension; Canseco is distracted by rescuing a woman and her possessions from a house fire; Mattingly is kicked off the team by Mr. Burns due to his sideburns that don't really exist Scioscia is hospitalized due to radiation poisoning Great song too. Additionally, this is Entertainment Weekly's top 25 episodes: 1. Last Exit... 2. Rosebud 3. Cape Feare 4. Marge vs the Monorail 5. Homer's Phobia 6. Mr Plow 7. Itchy and Scratchy Land 8. A Fish Called Selma 9. Treehouse of Horror V 10. Last Temptation of Homer 11. Duffless 12. I Love Lisa 13. City of New York vs Homer Simpson 14. 22 Short Films... 15. Homer at the Bat 16. Flaming Moe's 17. Bart the Daredevil 18. Homer Badman 19. Spin-off Showcase 20. Radio Bart 21. Life in the Fast Lane 22. How I Spent My Strummer Vacation 23. Itchy and Scratchy and Poochie Show (really!?) 24. Simpson and Delilah 25. Who Shot Mr Burns 1+2 They claim Bart to the Future is the worst episode. Given the list was made around 2003, I bet they could cherrypick from a whole host of other episodes to hold that accolade, but none that would be top 25.
