She should have told Janeway the stupid writers were throwing her off the ship in favor of Kim.

I just feel bad for Jennifer Lien because I went to elementary school with her cousin.

    How do you know that?

Kes: Captain, they're throwing me off the ship instead of Harry.
Captain: Ensign Kim, report to the airlock

Kim is the most killed off character in all of Trek, seriously. He took more punishment that Chekov, Georgi and O'Brien combined!

    I disagree about Seven.
Her reaction made more sense than how Huge acted.
She acted like someone who's been brainwashed reacts when taken out of that environment. Like an addict going through a withdrawal. She acted like someone with post traumatic stress disorder. Her re-action was the natural one, unlike Huge who just stood there with a stupid look on his face waiting to be fed like a pet. Hugh never even thought enough to try and gain his freedom. How could the Borg conquer anything with Drones so docile?
I thought Janeway had him beat?

Day of Honor: I liked Seven of Nine's development in this episode, among other things...I liked how she tried hard integrate with the crew, despite the hostility that some of the crew members showed her. I thought the way she shrugged off verbal attacks, as if they meant nothing, was pretty amusing. We also saw development for Tom and B'Elanna's relationship. I think they have quite a bit of chemistry with one another, so I liked seeing their relationship move forward.
Despite the bad things that they did, the aliens for this episode were very sympathetic. They were obviously desperate and in need of food and supplies. It just goes to show you that desperate measures make people do desperate things. In the end, everyone was happy. Voyager's warp core was returned, the aliens received whatever it was they wanted, and Tom and B'Elanna were saved.
All in all, a solid above-average episode with good character development and interesting aliens-of-week.

    Good observation about the aliens.
Keep that in mind, it plays a theme of how life in the DQ is.
Without a Federation, there are no legal trade routes
There is no such thing as fair trade here.

I really like "Day of Honor." Again, I frickin' love B'Elanna; she's probably one of my top 5 Trek characters, and I agree that she and Tom have excellent chemistry.

Yeah, I liked "Day of Honor" a lot. The introduction of Seven of Nine made the show fresh again, and pretty much everything in this episode worked.

One thing I particularly loved about "Day of Honor" was actually getting to see a warp core ejection. I was pleasantly surprised when they briefly showed Engineering with the warp core missing as well. Not quite sure what they did for that...digital background? Physically removing the prop?

But yes, between the effects fun, the Tom-Torres development, the Seven stuff...nothing to complain about with this episode.

I've seen lots of his posts and they are not all that funny. He is crude.

I liked it back when I first saw it.

Since that time, I've come to realize that the ending is such a blatant rip-off of the ending of Babylon 5's "Mind War" that it's not even funny. They could have at least tried to hide it....

Actually, it was more like TNG's "Transfigurations"...which had the plot of "Mind War" before B5 did it.

One of the few TNG episodes I haven't seen. However, I wasn't referring to the plot of the episodes in question, so much as the lifting of the final scene in the episode.

But that was also the ending of "Transfigurations", where the hunted guy becomes a powerful energy being who ends the immediate conflict and bids a happy farewell to the crew for what they did for him.
