Yeah, we had a victory of sorts. My science officer, Doc Lee, is my least capable fighter. He's better at support but that wasn't really this type of encounter. After a protracted time shooting probes finally encountered Donatra and defeated him. Burned through all my minor and most of my major components. Accumilated zero loot (really - I went through the logs twice to verify).

So although it was good to participate in a fleet event, I'll be holding off for now. At least until I get Doc Lee and the remainder of my characters through Operation Gamma and the rest of the FE.

    Thanks.

Not all Prometheuses are built the same. Perhaps there are only a handful of EMHs running those prommies.

Now my Prometheus on the other hand not only have the state of the art systems, it is also crewed by Starfleet's finest. Nothing short of an elite tactical cube with ghost torps can destroy it. In fact I just completed an elite Kithomer's today. I was destroying the probes and had some spare time left to help out take down a nanite generator or two as well as one of the borg cubes. Poor Donatra, we took him out before he even had a chance to cloak.

After last night's STF run I think my Excelsior build still needs a bit of work. I'm not getting the DPS out of it that I want and I seem to be more effective in my Sovy, even though the Excelsior is supposed to be setup specifically for the Borg.

I'm working on a Prometheus MVAM build for my tac toon to use in STF's that that should be cool too.

The start date of the next FE hasn't been announced yet, but should be coming later in the year.

I wondering what the event on the 23rd is going to be.

I can send you my Excelsior Refit layout later. It doesn't hold up in PvP, but against PvE it's almost unstoppable. I found a screenshot last night where my engineer and another player had just taken out the Borg Command ship on the Borg Incursion. He can almost defeat the ship by himself.

I found a rudimentary combat log parser for STO (http://sourceforge.net/projects/stocombat/). It only count the number of hits and misses, total damage done per weapon and from that calculates average damage per hit. Here is how my Prometheus class MVAM is performing in elite Infected (Space)

    Quantum Torpedo - 9,479 dmg/hit (24% crits)
Quantum Torpedo (High Yield II) - 6,787 dmg/hit (7% crits)
This looked strange to me until I remembered that High Yield shoots an average of 3-5 torpedoes so while each torpedo hits for less damage, the number of torpedos adds up to a lot more damage. Thank goodness I invested a lot of skill points in weapons accuracy. If one of these high yield torps misses its target, it can potentially neuter High Yield''s advantage.

    Plasma-Disruptor Hybrid DHC - 1,372 dmg/hit (13% crits)
    Plasma-Disruptor Hybrid DHC (Rapid Fire I) - 1,353 dmg/hit (0.3% misses, 5% crits)
    Plasma-Disruptor Hybrid DHC (Rapid Fire II) - 2,203 dmg/hit (6% crits)
Nothing much to say here except I <3 my hybrid weapons. It would be good to verify if these hybrid weapons are indeed better than the STF awarded weapons. So I am going to do another Infected run with a full set of Antiproton DHCs and Turrets.

    Disruptor Turret - 278 dmg/hit (0.2% misses, 10% crits)
    Disruptor Turret (Rapid Fire I) - 262 dmg/hit (13% crits)
Disruptor Turret (Rapid Fire II) - 396 dmg/hit (10% crits)
    Antiproton Turret - 228 dmg/hit (9% crits)
    Antiproton Turret (Rapid Fire I) - 215 dmg/hit (9% crits)
    Antiproton Turret (Rapid Fire II) - 360 dmg/hit (0.6% misses, 15% crits)
I am in the process of switching from Antiproton turrets to disruptor turrets so this is a nice chance to compare the two different energy types and oh my, what a difference! Disruptors turns out to outperform Antiprotons. This may help explain why Disruptors cost so much more than Antiprotons in the exchange.

Scratch that, I just realized why there is a difference in damage between disruptor and antiproton turrets. My ship is equipped with 2 Mk XI Disruptor Induction Coils that increases disruptor damage. So ignore what I said about disruptors being better than antiprotons. :P

    MVAM Photon Torpedo - 747 dmg/hit
MVAM Phaser Array (Overload II) - 241 dmg/hit
MVAM Phaser Array (Fire At Will II) - 38 dmg/hit
MVAM Phaser Array (Target Shields II) - 26 dmg/hit
MVAM Phaser Array (Target Weapons II) - 25 dmg/hit
As expected, the multi-vector assault mode does not really deal a lot of damage. What surprised me was the number of skills that got employed, including skills like beam overload and beam fire at will that none of my BOFFs have.

That would be really useful thanks. I'm not planning on using Lex for PVP really (I have Zylah for that) and I'm really setting him up as a dedicated STF toon when using the Excelsior.

I just ran a second elite Infected (space), this time with purely Antiproton weaponry.

    Antiproton DHC - 1,432 dmg/hit (13% crits)
    Antiproton DHC (Rapid Fire I) - 1,436 dmg/hit (7% crits)
Antiproton DHC (Rapid Fire II) - 1,576 dmg/hit (10% crits)
    Antiproton Turret - 336 dmg/hit (1% misses, 10% crits)
    Antiproton Turret (Rapid Fire I) - 324 dmg/hit (9% crits)
Antiproton Turret (Rapid Fire II) - 360 dmg/hit (11% crits)

Hmm it seems that the STF reward weapons do indeed outperform the hybrids. Looks like I'll be sticking to my Antiprotons after all.

Gives a nice place to sink all those Prototype Borg Tech drops that keep disappointing me in the Elite STF runs. Better than nothing, but pretty much running all purple Mk XII Antiproton DHCs and Quantums now (with a pair of rear turrets), so running out of things to buy with them. Have started dumping them into making a cruiser beam boat with the spares, just to have something to put them into. Heck, my backup escort is running with a full loadout of the MK XI purples, got all the castoffs when i upgraded the primary. Too bad there's not a better method of recycling these things, seems a waste to put all that time/credits into something, and basically just throw it away when you upgrade. Would be nice on another toon, or if they could be traded back in to the STF vendor to try something else of equal value...

Intrinsical, appreciate the info. I need to run that on my Excelsior Refit to see what kind of numbers I get. Does it show damage from non-weapon sources like Warp Plasma, Gravity Well, etc? A lot of the damage dealt out by my engineer is from residual plasma fire, and that can generate it's own crits. Thanks.

You know what the really screwy thing is.

I noticed yesterday that a Mark XI Phaser sniper rifle does slightly more dps then a Mark XII Borg Phaser sniper rifle.

Did you finish your foundry mission(s)? I think you were working on Drake Must Die or something like that.

I had it done, but then Cryptic changed something that broke it, and I pulled it. I should fix it and put it back out there; haven't felt motivated in that area lately.

I asked this a few months before, but I'll ask it again: is it still impossible for Klingon players to complete the Gorn, Nausicaan, and Orion ground kill accolades? I have 1 kill in each of these categories (probably due to arena matches, but those are few and far between for Klingon players, although F2P has made them a little more common).

Unless someone creates some specific grinding missions in the foundry, there won't be a way (besides ground pvp KvK), I suppose.

Funny thing happened on Qo'nos today while I tried to RP for a name for my new ship.

"My fellow warriors! I need a GLORIOUS name for my new battle cruiser!"

    "Executor?"

"Now why would I want a fed-de-ray-shun name for my ship?"

"Its the name of Darth Vader's own ship. "

    :vulcan: :cardie: :klingon:

After a barrel of bloodwine, I decided to christen my ship I.K.S Puqbe' vo' wo'
The Federation translation would be "Daughter of the Empire"

How do you get through deactivating the DS9 sensors with the Jem'Hadar ships shooting at you while you are trying to shoot at the work bees?
