Here are just a few things I think season 8 should have. As much as the Doctors Name did pay off I hope season 8 wont have any more season long story arcs. Also there shouldnt be another mid season break that causes us to wait months to see the rest of the season. Lastly many episodes in season 8 were standolone and as a result many felt rushed so I hope that in season 8 we can expect more 2 parter episodes. please write what you think should be in season 8 below.
More Classic Villains! the occasional two parter an acknowledgement that the RTD seasons actually happened more rules and boundaries to what the Doctor can do
- Don't get rid of Clara - More standalone episodes - More NON-dystopian/NON-horror scifi settings - If there is to be a break midseason, make it a short one. Like a month.
You know, I was thinking about that today. I think it's time for a more serious Doctor. Ten and Eleven were whimsical and occasionally serious. Twelve needs just a few more degrees of seriousness IMO.
An older Doctor. Different show runner (bring back RTD!). I agree, keep Clara. Derek Jacobi as the Master! He was amazing in his five minute stint.
Why do they need to aknowledge the RTD seasons happened? We know they happened, and there have been some references. In Let's Kill Hitler the Tardis saw fit to show Rose, Martha and Donna as potential interfaces, which frankly annoyed me-- why not Jamie, Sarah Jane and Tegan?--and the 50th Anniversary special is going to include RTD's main doctor and RTD's primary Mary Su...sorry, companion, I meant companion. I'm not sure what you want? The 12th Doctor to pick Wilf up? And more classic villains? In Series 7B alone we had the Great Intelligence, an Ice Warrior, Cybermen....plus, whilst not villains here, a Sontaran and a Silurian! Oh yes and we're getting a Zygon in the 50th special... Frankly I'm not sure what's left? The Krotons, the Dominators? Ok maybe the Robots from Robots of Death would be good. I'm still pretty sure Moffat's given us more classic monsters than RTD did (though I admit maybe a lot of that's down to it being the anniversary year) My list! More consistency in the character of Clara Return to 2 parters No split series More Ice Warriors UNIT Strax, Jenny and Vastra Daleks Someone to really make the Cybermen good again! Some decent new recurring monsters (though I accept this is trickier than you think, whoever’s in charge) Emilia Fox guest starring in an episode And the main one. A great 12th Doctor. I don’t care if he’s white black or brown, young or old, male or female as long as he (she) convinces as the Doctor, and is very different from 11, 10 and 9…

Some more things i want is for clara character to be more then just a object used for the story arc and a want at least one good episode with the cyberman that uses the new cyberman from nightmare in silver but NO KIDS.
The only thing I really care about is bringing back the two-parters and no mid-series gap. Otherwise, I'll take whatever craziness they want to throw at us (well, except "The Almighty Return of Rose. Again"). That being said, I wouldn't mind having an episode with both Captain Jack and River.
I think it would be nice if they would create some more 'new' threats. I'm honestly getting a bit tired of seeing the same races pop up nearly all the time. The Doctor talks about how there are sooooo many alien races out there. And yet we see a lot of the same ones. Be kind of nice if the next season the Doctor and Clara encountered some new threats. It was nice to see the GI as an over-reaching threat - and I wouldn't mind seeing him maybe try to manipulate some other heretofore unseen baddies. Surely they can create a villain that would be as iconic as the Daleks or Cybermen or the Sontarans. Sure we had a few 'new' ones, but it'd be nice if we didn't see the Daleks or Cybermen at all.
