I love Christmas music! I am in fact listening to it right now. I will listen to it all year round, but I start in earnest sometime in November.

I don't actively listen to Christmas music, but I can't help hearing Christmas music since it's all over the radio from the day after Thanksgiving (sometimes earlier) until December 24.

I just started listening to some today! It was by accident; I went to stream a station from back home and forgot that they start playing Christmas music very early. I listened to a few songs while cleaning.

When I lived in Illinois, I usually started listening when it started feeling like winter outside. Right now I think I'll cool it with the Christmas music until at least after Thanksgiving. But I do really enjoy the songs.

I loved it for years. Handel's Messiah, Elvis singing carols, wonderful choirs harking the herald angels. My favorite christmas hymn was, and I guess still is, O Come O Come Emmanuel.

And then one day I was like.. I NEVER WANT TO HEAR THIS STUFF AGAIN.

Kind of like Hotel California. Enough already with these damn songs.

Mind you for the last 10 years we've played Shakira's Laundry Service album every Christmas so it's easy to make new traditions.

One of my friends used to work in a Christmas store, so she heard it every day. So consequently, for years after she stopped working there, she refused to listen to Christmas music.

Could Greensleeves be considered Christmas music? I love that song during the holidays.

I threaten my kids with grievous bodily harm if they play Christmas songs before December 1st. I don't mind some Christmas music, especially traditional carols, but I like anything Christmassy to be confined to December.

I cannot put into words how happy I am to work in one of the few retail chains which never plays music. It makes up for the years I worked in a place which had just three Christmas cassettes: Barbra Streisand, Bony M, and The Chipmunks. It's amazing no employee ever went postal during the holiday season.

In my country, children go from house to house on Christmas Eve and sing carols, so, after the first bunch of them come to my house, I usually get in the mood and listen to some festive music. So, Christmas Eve it is!

Ever since I read this thread two hours ago I've had Feliz Navidad in my head.

They can confine it Christmas week for all I care. Don't get me wrong nothing against it per se, but working in retail. Come Christmas you are fed up of listening to Christmas music.

As for poll options, shouldn't there be a sometime December in there? Rather than two options for November (Some time in November and Thanksgiving weekend as last I checked that's sometime in November)

christmas music in britain basically means being subjected to Slade and Wizzard in every shop for the entirety of december.

Thus any possible joy is sapped from the concept of christmas music.

I love Christmas music but try to restrict it to the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. But, of course, the local shops began playing holiday music on November 1st.
