Officially Launching October 31st 2010! The Outpost Byron is a spin off of the USS Matahari - set roughly 5 years in the future. Outpost Byron is a Section 31 starbase located in a strategic location near the edges of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. Designated as both a way station and command post for Section 31 and Starfleet Intel joint operations. Just because the station says in one place doesn't mean all the action is stationary! There are a few facets to this sim that my XO and I have in mind for this one - one being a more covert ops/spy feel. So if you're a fan of shows like Alias, Nikita, and Covert Affairs and of course 007, this could be a fun sim for you. The next facet being a more diverse location - with a sort of DS9/Babylon 5 feel with exotic merchants, visitors and ambassadors visiting from time to time to deal with various issues. And there are other facets we'll keep under wraps until it's time to reveal them. "The Frontier" Located in one of the most distant reaches of Federation space, the Frontier lies in the area where Federation, Klingon, and Romulan space meet together. Far from most patrol assignments, the Frontier has long been known to be a haven for smugglers, black markets, and pirates. Long neglected after the Dominion War, the only Starfleet presence in the sector has been an assortment of starbases and outposts. While these stations do have their own garrisons, they are usually kept busy just protecting their own assets. There are a few newer colonies that have been established on planets around the sector, but they generally have had to look out for themselves, as the stations lack the resources to extend protection to the colonies. Finally, after several years of neglect, Starfleet has decided that a stronger presence is needed in the system to restore the people's faith in Starfleet's ability to see to their needs. To this end, they have selected the USS Discovery, a Nebula Class Starship fresh out of a 3 year overhaul, to be their ambassador to the residents of the Frontier. The ship is commanded and crewed by several of the old USS Sentinel's crew, an Intrepid Class starship that sustained considerable damage during it's last mission. There mission statement is very clear: bring order to the Frontier. But their task is a daunting one, and the crew of the Discovery will quite possibly face more difficult challenges in the Frontier than they have before...quite possibly more so than even during the war. My vision for this sim is to be something that nearly everyone regardless of sim experience or even playing preference can get into. If you like playing civilians, we have something for you. If you like playing kick ass Marines, we've got something for you. If you like playing "Traditional" Starfleet - we've got something for you too. If you like playing low down, dirty evil SOBs, then brother this is a sim for you! As this sim is relatively young, we are very open to adapting things and changing things here and there and accomidating new ideas. If you've had an idea rattling around your brain for a while, that you've always wanted to write, but never could find writing partners to do it... we might be able to help! As far as time commitments, if you can do at least a post or two a week we're very happy. I'd rather see quality over quantity. PM me if you're interested in learning more - or check out our forum, register and create a character and do an application. Keep in mind, if you are inactive for more than a month and hold a Chief position, it will be reassigned to another active player until you either return. I am the CO of the USS Lancelot. The Lancelot is a re-start of the USS Lancelot simulation from the Fleet Formerly known as Tango, now known as Sixth Fleet. The Lancelot has a storied history in our fleet, and although the simulation was laid to rest for several years, many players are beginning to return. We have several Senior Staff Positions still available, and most of the Asst Dept Head and Senior Departmental Enlisted Positions are still open for play. This is one of those simulations, where the Command Team listens to the ideas of the players, and in general provides a fun and exciting roleplaying experience. The Lancelot will be running a Seasonal Format as well. Each "Season" will have an overarching story, that permeates the missions of that Season. Every 5 - 10 missions will be grouped into Seasons. The simulation has an experienced command team and core player group already in place, along with a Strong Fleet backing for support and assistance in all things. USS Vastitude - A War Is Upon Us The USS Vastitude, till recently the Federation's contact point in Orion Space, has been dispatched to handle a rising threat in the Cardassian territory, several years after the signing of the Bajor Treaty with the Dominion, winds start to shift in Cardassian space as several small factions within the Union are not willing to accept the treaty conditions anymore. The crew of the USS Vastitude, led by Captain Peter Haden, has learned it's way through Orion Space, the piracy, illegal trades, handling of small cells of criminals, is now trusted to be the leading force to deal with the new threats that lay in the Cardassian border. The Sovereign class starship has known it's battles and has proved it's top fighting ability, it's experienced crew now maneuvers it through their new adventure. The USS Vastitude is a Play-By-Email simulation, a part of Epsilon Fleet (FSF).
