He's become Piney 2.0. It's great. And it's going to be interesting to see the reaction when he goes and buys Piney's old tricycle (I'm sorry; I don't know the proper term for it), which they placed an emphasis on putting up for sale right after he's shown being unable to mount his old bike.

^^^ I think it's called a trike. Hadn't thought of that but it makes perfect sense. Looks like the only way Clay will be able to continue to ride.

A pretty bleak season opener. Mr. Pope is one ruthless dude and Tig is going to end up needing some time in the Asylum when all is said and done. Cant wait for next week!

I loved the Pope character. It is good to see Harold Perrineau back on form like that again. I was a huge fan of his during Oz, and I felt he was woefully misused in Lost. I think he will prove to be the best "villain" SoA has seen up to this point.

Heh... Strangely, I hated his Lost character, but really like him in this. Although I feel that he seems a bit too young looking to have had a daughter of that age. She seemed almost of an age with him before Tig nailed her with the car.

Harold Perrineau will be 50 next year, if the character is the same age he could reasonably have a daughter in her 30's.

I thought the premiere was pretty terrible but that could also just be may dim view of the show thanks to the end of last season carrying over. I thought the scene of Tig's daughter's burning was particularly bad as it was unclear who she was and the acting was terrible- Tig's reaction didn't seem at all on par with what was going on.

^Fair enough. But I don't agree about Tig's response. He was in chains, there was not a thing he could do to save his daughter, he was completely helpless. Tig is not used to being helpless. I think he went into shock, which dulled his response. (...I also didn't have any trouble recognizing Dawn, and the phone call explained that he was going to the meeting to bail her out of trouble...)

Also, yes, it's hard to imagine that a street thug-turned-boss man might have sired a child when he, himself, was still very much underage, too. That sort of thing just doesn't happen, especially in California.

    Really?

I mean, I don't know much about California, but I had a patient yesterday who was 43, and came in with her 16 year old granddaughter. Is it so different out there that a 50 year old guy couldn't have a +/- 27 year old daughter?

What is the complaint here? :wtf:

I was being a bit facetious in order to emphasize that a drug dealer having a child when he, himself, was only 12-13 is far from an impossibility.

I thought the premiere was ok. The Tig + burning scene didn't bug me as far as who was burning or what his reaction was.

I thought Pope killing his new lackey was a little silly... a little too cartoon villain for me. Last season was pretty bad... the CIA nonsense carrying over is not going to help this season. And now we have a third person who should really want to off Ron Perlman's monkey-face but for some reason won't because I'm sure he'll be around until at least the season finale but wouldn't be surprised if he also made it to the series finale.

And what's with Jimmy Smit? Call me if you need anything! Oh you need me to hide your fugitive son... no problem!

They probably ran an intel operation on him ofscreen. Thats the explanation i came up with. They should not trust him just because he replaced Clay in bed.

Am i the only one who tought Bail Organa was one of the bikers banging some porn chicks at first?

Smit's character is very confusing. I, too, thought he was just some random biker during that initial scene. When he turned out to be a suave pimp the next morning, I was confused as heck.

But, yeah, I have no idea why Gemma would trust him to this degree, or why he'd be willing to house some biker fugitives and risk bringing all that heat down on his 'escort' service. Gemma must have a really phenomenal vagina on her or something. How does SAMCRO not have any safehouses set up? They're professional criminals who have had to go on the lam multiple times now. I'd think it was something of a priority for them.

We don't know if it will turn out to be a good plan. Also, who knows what story Gemma has told him. It doesn't have to be anything like the truth. This may have seemed an idea because it is relatively unconnected in any way to the Sons (so far as we know). They may have thought any safe houses they had would be watched by either the police or by the Niners and Pope.

Well, you have to be pretty thick to not realize you're housing a bunch of bikers who are dressed up as bikers. And you have to be nearly as thick to not realize that if you are housing a bunch of bikers under the radar, it's not because they're planning a birthday party or something.

Also, the whole point of a safehouse is that it's something no one knows about. Or at least as few people as possible. Hence the use of the word "safe" in "safehouse." It's not a "let's go to that one property we publicly own or are otherwise known to associate with to hide out; surely no one will think to look for us there"-house.

Edit: I apologize if I sound confrontational. It's not my intent, but after reading over the post it does seem that way evne to me, and I'm not sure why.

He can probably handle himself. He was with ''muscle'' whne he talked to Gemma on the phone.

Charming looks like a small town so if they would rent some houses people would probably know about it. Makes sense. I remeber the FBI once trying to follow someone in a small town. People constantly went to their car and wanted to know who were they.

Smits is obviously a player in the underworld. How big we do not know yet. But if he is in the charming area he knows who Gemma and samcro are since they keep a highly public profile. Smits' motivation is leverage either from samcro, their enemies or both. Would not be surprised if his night with Gemma is not the result of some date rape drug. She doesn't seem like the type to blackout.

Organa is a handsome guy, i don't think he needs a date rape drugs. If he just wanted to do business he would had called them or would had sent an ambassador.
