    He's curiously ageless, Vin Diesel.

Our first teaser trailer...and it's truly a tease at only 22 seconds long. They really do seem to have gone back to the style of "Pitch Black". I am looking forward to this.

Think you're right. It's probably the no-hair thing.

He posted this on fb. I don't know if it's the same one but it looks like a blast.

Yep same one...but better quality, at least it was for me when I clicked on that. Short and sweet. I really am excited for this.

This looks potentially really good. I adore the second movie, or at least I do now having seen the DC a few times, wasn't keen on it at the Cinema.

Also, I really like the fact that Diesel has been able to resurrect this character even after a massive flop. That shows some real commitment to his craft. I think he's gonna pull this off with style.

I love both films in their totally different ways, and this certainly seems to have taken elements from both, but I hope that it is also something new and unique and completely different to both of those as they were to each other.

Plus the weekend it is released is also Star Trek's birthday and my birthday - a celebration is in order!

Looks like a balance between Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick.

I thought they went too far off track with Chronicles -- what with it's laughable attempt to create some epic, Dune-style mythology -- but this new synopsis sounds MUCH more promising, and like it could make for a pretty kickass action movie.

Both movies had such a different tone and feel to them I was really curious to what they would do with the third movie.

I loved both films. The first one for its simplicity and character-led storytelling. The second one for the huge risk it took. I know it was a commercial flop but the vision was original and amazing. It bears re-watching very well. The science part of sci fi was severely compromised in the second film but really no worse than ST and to be honest, the biggest problem I had with the second film (how the hell was there a breathable atmosphere on Crematoria) really could be asked about the first planet too, since there was no vegetation and in any case there was a very long period of complete darkness during the planet's cycle.

Really looking forward to this. The Riddick-verse is one of my favorite sci-fi properties. Enjoyed both of the first two flicks, the anime and the games.

I really must rewatch Chronicles soon. I remember finding it visually striking (great production design) with some nice moments but not as compelling as Pitch Black. Wonder if will like better on second viewing...should I watch the director's cut?
