If anyone wants to record some missions without the interface and labels, d/l screencast-o-matic.

To turn off the STO interface press Alt-F12. Then run screencast-o-matic, and switch back to the game. Standard video controls, just press the record button and it will record your session as .avi or mp4 and .gif. Press Alt-P to pause/stop recording and save file.

It's wonderful just to fly space missions not cluttered by graphics and text, just using Alt-F12.

I think the Romulan Dyson ship is the best looking of the three:

And here is my new Fed engineer, Mantis, whom I am grooming to excel at cruiser command. I have his back story as being half Andorian and half Romulan. Meaning 2 Romulan parents and 2 Andorian parents, going with the 4 gender version of the Andorians in Trek lit. And I really like the look of the Khan-era uniforms with color as a highlight instead of a feature.

The Romulan Dyson is easily the best looking of the lot.

Since the new Earth Space Dock is essentially one huge hall, I made a quick panorama. It is a huge image, so here is the link instead.

Here are some pictures from my spacewalk around the circumference of ESD.
    Wow that thing is huuuge!
took me around an hour to make it all the way back to the beginning and the scale is probably still 50x to small. XD

Yeah, I fell through that too, tried to climb back and was falling through space until I reached the boundary and was beamed back into the starbase. Got this cap on the way down...

Please dumb it down for me. Where is this tribble test server, and how do I get there? Thanks.

When you open the STO client and have entered your log in password you have 3 tabs on the lower side: Holodeck (which is the regular live server), Tribble (the public test server for new patches and builds) and Redshirt (which stands in for Tribble for smaller patches when a new seasonal build is being tested).
Just click on on Tribble before you actually log in and you will automatically receive all the patch data that comes with the new STO build.
Just be warned it will be several Gigabyte if you have bandwidth/hard drive issues/restrictions.
There you can create a new test character, but it would be advisable to copy your existing one from the Holodeck Server to Tribble so you get to test everything up to the endgame content without starting over.

Don't ask me where they hide the copy character button these days. ;)

Also, I believe Tribble test server is currently only open to gold players (players who have spent bought stuff with money in STO). So not all players can get access to Tribble.

Thanks for explaining that. I'm not a Gold member, but I'll give it a try.

A new orbital station above San Francisco. Clearly inspired by The Motion Pictor station that later became Regula 1 upside down. Though it looks a bit modernized. :)
