I'll be thinking of you, hon. You've been so kind and supportive, if ever there is anything you can always PM me!
Best of all possible luck, some hugs and warm wishes Ziyal. I'm sure everything will be fine and work out. We love ya!
Yay! Were you ever able to get rid of the wound vac? And I sure hope someone got held liable for what they did to you. I can't blame you. I'd take a sheet in with a reminder to hand them as soon as you get there. I know you could just tell them, but when I get in complex medical situations it helps me to have stuff written down. You will definitely have my prayers. And Rhubarbodendron...I LOVE what you did to your surgeon! Awesome!
That's okay. It was balanced by the feeling of relief. That's a question we should ask every doctor we go to: "What if it were your ass on the line?"
Good luck and get well soon! (And you can add me to the already large camp that is very glad the thread isn't what I feared on reading the title alone!)
My heart sank when I first saw this thread title and it's taken a bit to be able to actually open it. Hope the new surgeon can make things right for you, Ziyal. You've been through so much lately and it's saddening to see a step backwards. I did that a couple of years ago when my dentist spotted something wrong during a dental exam and my GP in turn referred me to a specialist to get it biopsied. I asked him who he would go to or take his family to. He responded by telling me that his Physician's Assistant was already setting up my appointment.
^^ That reminds me of the story Asimov told about his heart surgery. His doctor told him that he was sending him to the same heart surgeon he had sent his own mother to. Asimov thought for a second and then asked, "Do you love your mother?"
^I love it! Thanks for the support, everyone. In case I don't check in tomorrow morning... Talk to you in a couple days.
Looking forward to reading good news, Ziyal. The prayer part isn't a problem. And like several other people, I'd like you to choose your thread titles a bit more carefully in future.
Good morning, Trekkies! Thanks to those last few of you who posted. The surgery was a piece of cake (so to speak). I'm bored and restless. Got kitties?
Sorry to take so long - I've been away. I was going to say good luck on the latest surgery, but I see you've already had it. So, instead I'm going to say: I'm glad it went well, and I wish you a swift recovery. As ever, it's an honour that you've shared the details of this difficult journey with us. Good luck! PS: I don't have kitties, sorry...
