No, I don’t mean its Kirk’s Naked Yeoman Day . Since the entry I won with was about civilians in space, I thought I would challenge others to abandon Starfleet and venture out into the unknown as just you average Federation citizen. What’s it like to be an archaeologist exploring the tomb of an ancient space-faring species, or a diplomat heading out to try and quell a squabble before it escalates into something more dangerous, or perhaps a merchant trying to make a living in brand new market, or a pioneer colonists setting foot on their new home for the first time? The series exposed us to more than a few civvies over the years, or maybe you have someone from your own fanfic you want to delve into, whichever way you want to go is acceptable. But it can’t be a Starfleeter on leave or anything like that. Now for some rules: - A limit of 8000 words - No crossovers - It must be your own original works - Closing date: Thursday 31st May @ 2100 GMT Good luck.
Does it have to be about Federation citizens or are civilians from other political entities allowed, too?
Okay, I've got an idea for this one if I can find the time to write it. One question - can any of the characters be former Starfleet as long as they are civilians in the story? Oh, and thanks for killing the naked Yeoman idea. Darn it.
Characters can be former Starfleet, so long as they have left it behind. Of course, if you want your civvie running around in the buff then by all means go for it!
First challenge entry for this month, Local Flavor - http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=177034 I hope you like it.
Here is my humble effort. Hope you like it! Aelwyd - 'Out of Uniform' May 2012 Challenge Entry Familiarity with my Pathfinder series would be nice but not necessary - this story takes place several years before the events of Pathfinder. Jerriecan
